Summary
The Compensation Analyst supports sales incentive and broad-based compensation, with a primary focus on sales compensation administration. Responsibilities include commission and OTE assignments, plan letters, revenue and payment validation, reporting, and audits.
The role also supports job matching, market pricing, compensation surveys, salary planning, and other compensation analyses. This position works closely with Compensation, Sales Operations, Finance, Payroll, IT, and People Partners.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Compensation
- Administer sales incentive plan participation, including commission and OTE assignments.
- Maintain participant data and process new hires, promotions, transfers, terminations, and plan changes.
- Prepare and distribute sales incentive plan letters.
- Extract and validate revenue data from SAP before it is loaded into Xactly Incent.
- Reconcile compensation inputs to SAP reports and confirm revenue is assigned to the correct customer, division, product, territory, and participant.
- Review commission calculations, validate payments, and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain audit controls, approvals, change logs, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare reports and respond to employee and leader questions regarding commissions, OTE, and plan participation.
- Support Xactly data maintenance, testing, documentation, and process improvements.
Compensation
- Support job matching, market pricing, and compensation survey submissions.
- Assist with salary analyses and compensation recommendations.
- Maintain salary structures, job levels, and compensation data.
- Support salary planning, incentive administration and compensation data audits.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of experience in compensation, sales compensation, sales operations, payroll, finance, or a related analytical role.
- Experience working with commissions, sales incentive plans, or OTE administration preferred.
- Experience extracting and validating revenue or transactional data from SAP or a comparable system.
- General understanding of revenue recognition and the difference between billed and recognized revenue.
- Strong Excel, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet monthly processing and payroll deadlines.
- Experience with Xactly Incent or another sales performance management system preferred.
- Experience with Power Query, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is a plus.
