Purpose of Privacy Notice

Welcome to the IGT Job Applicant Privacy Notice (“Privacy Notice”).

As one of the world's leading end-to-end gaming companies, International Game Technology PLC is committed to data privacy and will comply with all applicable data protection laws and regulations.

This Privacy Notice describes how International Game Technology PLC and its subsidiaries, affiliates, and related entities (collectively “IGT Group”, “we” or “us”) collect and use your personal data during and after the application process. We encourage you to read this Privacy Notice carefully along with, where you are applying via our website www.igt.com the Website Terms of Use and Privacy Notice for that website (https://www.igt.com/privacy-notice).

International Game Technology PLC and/or the local company to which you have applied (if different), are the controllers of your personal data. 

We may update this Privacy Notice at any time, but if we do so, we will provide you with an updated version as soon as reasonably practicable.  If you have any questions about how the IGT Group is handling your personal data, please contact the Privacy Office at privacy@igt.com

Depending on your location, the relevant controller of your personal data may have a Data Protection Officer.  You can contact the data protection officer using the email address above.

Personal data we collect about you

When we use the term “personal data” in this Privacy Notice, we mean information about you, and from which you could be identified, for example, things like your name and contact details, and information about your employment history and qualifications.  We may collect the following types of personal data when you apply for a job opening:

  • First/last/middle names, gender, date of birth, place of birth, nationality/citizenship, marital status, dependent information, details of military service.
  • Copies of/information from identification and government-issued documents such as passport, drivers license, social security number, national insurance number.
  • Contact information including postal address, email addresses and phone numbers.
  • Education information including academic history, qualifications held and language proficiencies.
  • Employment history, professional memberships and professional references.
  • Information about immigration status and your right to work in the country in which you are applying for a job.
  • Information about availability and notice periods.
  • If you contact us about your application, we will keep a copy of communications between us.
  • Special categories of personal data or sensitive personal data, in particular race, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, religious or philosophical beliefs, details of any disability or medical condition and information about criminal convictions.

We have collected the same categories of personal data as those listed above in the 12 months prior to the date of this Privacy Notice.

Sources of personal data

We mostly collect your personal data from you.  We may also receive personal data from recruitment agencies and service providers involved in the recruitment and screening process.  Personal data will also be generated by us during the recruitment process.

How we use personal data we collect about you

We use your personal data for recruitment-related purposes, including to:

  • Determine your qualifications and suitability for the role applied for, and potentially future job openings, and to make a hiring decision.
  • Contact you about your job application(s) or your inquiry.
  • Notify you about new jobs matching your preferences and other events and announcements if you have opted to receive such updates.
  • Conduct screening, assessments, and interviews.
  • Build and maintain a professional relationship with you.
  • Make offers and provide contracts of employment.
  • Carry out pre-employment checks, including determining your legal right to work and conducting credit checks, where applicable.
  • Comply with applicable employment and labor laws, and to respond to any public authority requests.
  • Carry out analysis and reporting, and to ensure that our recruitment processes are fair.

We will only use your personal data fairly and where we have a lawful reason to do so. We are allowed to use your personal data if we have your consent or another legally permitted reason applies. These include to fulfil a contract with you or to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract, when we have a legal duty to comply with, or when it is in our legitimate business interest to use your personal data. We can only rely on our legitimate business interest if it is fair and reasonable to do so.

Sensitive personal data and information relating to criminal convictions

We may use your sensitive (or special category) personal data in the following ways:

  • We will use information about your disability status to consider whether we need to provide appropriate adjustments during the recruitment process, for example considering whether adjustments need to be made during a test or interview.
  • We will use information about your race or national or ethnic origin, religious, philosophical or moral beliefs, or your sexual life or sexual orientation, to ensure meaningful equal opportunity monitoring and reporting.

Depending on your country and the role you are apply for, we may carry out criminal record checks.  Please speak to your recruitment/HR contact for more information.

We do not use or disclose sensitive employment personal data to infer characteristics about candidates. 

Sharing personal data with third parties

We will only share your personal data with those who have a legitimate need to know, such as:

  • Our group companies.
  • Service providers and professional advisors.
  • When necessary to protect our rights, investigate fraud or breaches of law.
  • When necessary to respond to legal or regulatory process, or a request from a public authority.
  • In the event that IGT considers or undergoes a business transition such as a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of all or part of our assets.

We have disclosed personal data to the same categories of recipients as those listed above in the 12 months prior to the date of this Privacy Notice.  

We do not sell your personal data or share your personal data with third parties for the purposes of cross-contextual targeted advertising.

International Transfer of Personal Data

We maintain servers around the world, including in the United States, and your information may be stored and processed on servers located outside of the country where you are based. 

We may also share your personal data with group companies and service providers which are involved in the recruitment process, and which may be located outside of your home country.

Data protection laws vary among countries, with some providing more protection than others. Regardless of where your information is processed, we apply the protections described in this Privacy Notice. Where legally required, we also enter into data transfer agreements, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, with the third parties receiving personal data.

Retention and Security

We have security measures in place to protect against unauthorized access, use and disclosure of your personal data. As an example of such measures, we restrict access to personal data on a need-to-know basis.

To protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your personal data in our custody, we maintain physical, logical, and procedural safeguards in compliance with internationally recognized standards and other industry specific security best practices. As part of these best practices, we review our privacy policies on a regular basis to ensure our compliance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.

Please be aware, however, that no information system is 100% secure, and therefore we cannot guarantee against all potential security breaches. Moreover, the transmission of information over wireless and wired networks is not inherently secure, and we are not responsible for the transmission of information over networks that we do not control.

Your personal data is retained for one (1) year from the last record update / action submitted on the career portal or until you ask us to erase your personal data. After your candidate account is deleted, or you ask us to delete your personal data, your personal data will only be retained to the extent required by applicable law.

Access, correction, and other rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights.  Please note that some of these rights are not absolute and only apply in certain circumstances.  They may also be subject to exemptions.

  • Information about our processing of your personal data: You may ask us to provide you with details about the personal data we hold about you and how such data is being processed by us, including categories of third parties with whom personal data is shared.
  • Access to your personal data: You may ask us to provide you with a copy of your personal data that we have.
  • Opt out, object to, or restrict use of your personal data: If at any point you believe that your personal data is being processed unlawfully, you may ask us to stop such processing.
  • Change or correct your personal data: You have the right to change or correct your personal data if it is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Transfer your personal data:  You may request that we transfer your personal data to another organization.
  • Erase your personal data: You may ask us to erase all or some of your personal data.
  • Withdraw your consent: At any time, you may withdraw any consent that you have previously given in relation to the processing. If you withdraw your consent, we will stop all associated processing activities.  Withdrawal of consent does not impact the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal.
  • Sensitive personal data:  You may have the right to limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal data.
  • Appeal:  If we deny your request to exercise your rights, you may be able to appeal to us for a review of that decision.
  • Non-discrimination:  You have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising one of your rights.

In some jurisdictions you also have the right to complain to the applicable Data Protection Authority, however, we ask that you please raise any issues with us first to allow us the opportunity to address your concerns.

Third-party websites

Please note that our website may contain links to other third-party websites which may collect your personal information when you apply for and submit a job application. The privacy practices mentioned in this notice do not apply to third-party websites and we invite you to examine the privacy statements and the terms and conditions that govern the other third-party websites.

Changes to this notice

We may revise this Privacy Notice from time to time as we deem appropriate. If we do, we will change the date indicated at the top of this notice. Please check this Privacy Notice frequently to ensure that you are aware of the most up to date information.
