Responsibilities
This role owns day-to-day leadership of our main manufacturing floor and may also carry supervisory responsibility across Sub-Assembly, Silk Screen, and SW Manufacturing areas. We're looking for a hands-on leader with a strong track record supervising teams in a high-volume, high-configurability production environment — someone who can keep a fast-moving, high-mix floor running safely, on schedule, and on quality.
- Directly supervise production leads and operators on the main manufacturing floor, with oversight potentially extending to Sub-Assembly, Silk Screen, and SW Manufacturing
- Drive daily schedule attainment across shifts; partner with Materials/Master Scheduling to resolve shortages or constraints threatening the line
- Own staffing, shift coverage, and cross-training plans so headcount can flex with changing product mix and configuration demands
- Enforce safety standards on the floor; lead incident investigation and corrective action
- Monitor quality metrics (first-pass yield, scrap, rework) and partner with Quality on root-cause analysis and corrective actions
- Manage team performance: coaching, one-on-ones, performance documentation (PIPs, letters of expectation), and development of leads/operators
- Lead daily tier meetings/floor walks and communicate production status, risks, and blockers to Operations leadership
- Drive continuous improvement and lean initiatives to increase throughput and reduce changeover time on high-mix, configurable lines
- Partner with Engineering on New Product Introduction (NPI) ramps to ensure the floor is ready for new builds and configurations
- Ensure the floor can absorb rapid configuration changeovers driven by build-to-order demand and high SKU variation
- Manage attendance, timekeeping, and adherence to labor and workplace policies
- Escalate material, equipment, or staffing constraints that put schedule attainment at risk
Qualifications
- 5+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/production environment, preferably in a high-volume, high-configurability (build-to-order/high-mix) setting
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Experience with ERP/MES systems (SAP preferred) for production scheduling and tracking
- Strong people-leadership skills: coaching, performance management, and conflict resolution
- Lean manufacturing/continuous improvement experience (5S, Kaizen, Six Sigma) preferred
- Ability to lead multiple production areas or teams simultaneously across differing processes
- Strong communication skills across all levels; comfortable presenting floor metrics and status to leadership
- Flexibility to support multiple shifts as production needs require
- Technical background in software duplication and technical systems to perform work desired.
