OVERALL OBJECTIVE & PURPOSE

The Procurement Specialist is responsible for all operational procurement activities of the site including but not limited to providing guidance to functional leads on methods, procedures, policies, applicable laws and regulations governing procurement of goods and services executed by IGT (Trinidad).

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

▪  Support requisitioning departments with the development of tender documents (Specifications, Terms of Reference, and Scope of Works

▪  Oversight on procurement related matters in accordance with procedures, policies, applicable laws and regulations to support functional department Managers

▪  Work with department managers on Preparation of solicitation documents including Expressions of Interest, Request for Quotations, Letters of Invitation, and Request for Proposals.

▪  Facilitates the evaluation of quotations, proposals and bids and making recommendations to ensure the organisation obtains the best value for money

▪  Process and track purchase requisitions to ensure timely approval and purchase order generation

▪  Monitor open purchase orders and consult with related departments to determine relevant course of action

▪  Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholder to arrange logistics associated with timely delivery of goods and services.

▪  Develop and maintain database of approved suppliers and monitors market to identify new suppliers.

▪  Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

▪  Monitors and analyzes trends in company purchases, spending and inventory control and market conditions for future pricing,

availability, lead time and capacity of goods and services and recommend cost savings and continuous process and systems

improvement

▪  Provides monthly and adhoc reports and status updates as required

▪  Obtains and reviews competitive bids, quotes, and proposals from vendors and contractors; discuss evaluations and review

with requesters and subject matter experts

▪  Any other related duties as may be assigned

REQUIREMENTS

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

  • Degree in Purchasing Management/ Procurement
  • Training in Procurement laws, regulations and procedures
    • Level 4 Diploma in Procurement and Supply, Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) will be an asset
  • Working knowledge of customs regulations relating to clearing of goods
  • Any other equivalent combination of qualifications and experience

 

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum five (5) years experience three (3) years of which must be in a related field
