Overview
Join the WINNING TEAM at IGT Global. This role ensures suppliers deliver quality parts and materials according to IGT specifications and supports the resolution of semi-complex nonconforming material issues. The Supplier Quality Engineer is fully competent in an assigned IGT manufacturing function.
Purpose of the role
The Supplier Quality Engineer ensures suppliers deliver quality parts and materials per IGT material specifications. This role supports the Supply Chain Quality team by reviewing and investigating nonconforming materials globally, processing transactions in SAP while performing audits and inspections. Position will also be responsible for component diagnostics and minor repairs, while collaborating cross-functionally to resolve issues.
Key Responsibilities
Scope of Work
• Conducts or participates in audits and inspections of supplier materials to ensure defect-free components/materials.
• Develops engineering solutions for supplier material defects based on product design specifications.
• Executes semi-routine material inspection assignments and participates in resolving technical problems using traditional engineering approaches.
Specific Accountabilities
• Drives suppliers to implement quality assurance systems ensuring defect-free components/materials.
• Works with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to define inspection criteria and communicate expectations to suppliers.
• Develops and prioritizes auditing schedules for designated suppliers to ensure good manufacturing practices.
• Evaluates supplier performance and provides feedback.
• Develops quality metrics to evaluate and improve supplier performance.
• Participates in qualifying suppliers according to IGT standards.
• Monitors parts through the manufacturing cycle and resolves supplier-related issues.
• Supports new product development processes and coordinates design reviews between manufacturing and suppliers.
• Maintains knowledge of relevant technologies, materials, and industry trends.
• Reviews and investigates nonconforming material from IGT Operations globally.
• Audits, inspects, reviews and investigates material made to IGT specifications for accuracy, cosmetics and functionality.
• Analyze data to aid in making long term procedural decisions, including reviewing department owned policies and procedures.
• Identify, record and communicate non-conformances to appropriate personnel and management.
• Perform component level diagnostics as well as electrical and mechanical test and repair.
• Uses SAP environment to move, scrap, research and receive parts.
• Decides disposition on parts and issues with moderate impact on the production schedule.
Role in Strategy
• Supports the strategies of the quality engineering and manufacturing departments.
• Adheres to technical/engineering standards while completing assigned projects.

Potential errors and their impacts include:
• Improper supplier material audits and inaccurate identification of issues.
• Failure to identify proper solutions to defective materials/processes.
• Ineffective communication with suppliers and internal teams.
• Compliance and jurisdictional non-conformance, leading to increased costs, production delays, poor supplier relations, and loss of revenue.
Communications/Interactions
• Regular internal interactions with quality, supply chain management, manufacturing, and engineering teams.
• Frequent external communication with suppliers to interpret and transmit semi-complex information.
Assignment of Work
• Work is closely supervised and reviewed by senior staff engineer.
• Semi-detailed instructions are provided for new assignments.
• Escalates semi-complex technical issues to mid-management and senior team members.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• Basic knowledge of:
o IGT manufacturing processes, material inspection workflows, and gaming products (game types, components, and parts).
o 2+ years in a Manufacturing environment.
o 2+ years in a Quality Assurance environment.
o 2+ years providing electronic technician support.
o 2+ years in a Supply Chain Management environment.
• Physical requirements: Must be able to lift and carry items and equipment weighing up to fifty (50) pounds. Demonstrate dexterity when working with tools and charged electrical components.
Preferred Qualifications
• Have strong communication and writing skills
• Familiarity and use of tech bench tools including but not limited to: Oscilloscopes, DMM's, Analog meters, Soldering and De-soldering equipment.
• PC skills- Proficient in SAP, Enovia, Microsoft applications such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Ability to work in a very high demand and high output environment with extreme efficiency.
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and collaboratively with multiple teams at once.
• Have basic and fundamental knowledge in electronics
• Have fundamental ability to read Engineering blueprints, specifications, and electronic schematics
