Role Overview
At IGT, our SQA Engineers play a critical role in delivering high-quality products that provide an exceptional player experience. This collaborative position is integral to game delivery - identifying issues, solving problems creatively, and driving quality standards across our portfolio.
Our Manchester Studio focuses on bringing exciting, land-based games to the UK market. You’ll help guide multiple projects from development completion through to release. On-site work is essential for this role to replicate real-world conditions and ensure our games perform flawlessly on the hardware our players use.
What You'll Do
• Perform manual testing tasks with minimal supervision.
• Test gaming software and review documentation to ensure compliance with customer, jurisdictional, regulatory, and functional requirements.
• Execute test plans and scripts for game software.
• Conduct functional and non-functional testing, both scripted and exploratory.
• Detect, track, and report software defects, working closely with the team to resolve issues.
• Collaborate with developers to identify edge cases and create robust test scenarios.
• Verify game mathematics and mechanics are implemented correctly.
• Assist in defining and analyzing test standards and procedures.
• Provide clear updates on testing progress throughout the project lifecycle.
• Accurately estimate timelines and effort for assigned tasks.
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, and scripts.
• Create and maintain tools, processes, and training documentation.
• Deliver high-quality documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
• Support studio initiatives such as second test reviews to uphold departmental standards.
About You
You’re passionate about quality and committed to delivering a fun, bug-free experience for players. You have a sharp eye for detail, can think beyond test scripts, and enjoy solving problems creatively. Adaptable and self-motivated, you thrive both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills enable you to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary studio.
Required experience:
- 2 Years Manual Testing Experience
- Able to demonstrate knowledge of different testing practices and techniques (e.g. functional, regression, exploratory)
What We'd Prefer
- Experience in a highly regulated industry.
- Knowledge of gaming regulations, jurisdictional requirements, and casino game rules.
- Background in game development.
- Basic automation scripting skills.
- Understanding of RNG testing and mathematical validation in gaming.
