Role Overview
Role: Counsel (Commercial)
Department: IGT Legal Team (PlayDigital)
Location: Manchester (Media City/Salford Quays) Hybrid work schedule, currently 2 days a week in the office.
IGT is seeking a motivated and commercially minded Counsel to join their growing PlayDigital Legal Team in Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career legal professional looking to gain broad exposure across commercial, technology, and corporate legal matters within a fast-paced global organization.
This role will support a rapidly expanding digital business following a recent acquisition and will work closely with business stakeholders across Europe and North America. The position offers hands-on experience negotiating complex commercial agreements, advising cross-functional teams, and contributing to strategic business initiatives in an innovative and collaborative environment.
What You'll Do
• Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a variety of commercial agreements, including content licensing agreements, technology supply agreements, and partner agreements
• Provide day-to-day commercial legal support to business teams across Europe and North America
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks, contract issues, and mitigation strategies
• Partner closely with cross-functional teams including finance, compliance, operations, HR, and business leadership
• Support strategic business growth initiatives and expansion projects
• Assist with post-acquisition integration work, including streamlining contract processes and structures
• Help maintain legal precedents, corporate governance documentation, and legal contract databases
• Contribute to broader global legal team projects and initiatives
• Work collaboratively within a supportive legal team environment that emphasizes mentorship and professional development
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years PQE with strong commercial legal experience
• Strong understanding of commercial and contract law
• Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
• Bachelor’s Degree and Legal Practice Course Certificate (or equivalent)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to communicate legal concepts effectively to business stakeholders at all levels
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and solution-oriented mindset
• Full right to work in the UK without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with technology-related contracts
• Exposure to data protection and intellectual property matters
• Experience working with global or cross-functional teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat, and AdobeSign
• Prior experience within technology, gaming, digital media, or other regulated industries

At IGT, we believe compensation should be as individual as you are, reflecting your skills, experience, background, and location. For this role, the starting compensation range is £45,541–£70,708 GBP, with flexibility to adjust higher or lower based on the full scope of qualifications.
