Responsibilities
IGT is seeking a Security Officer II to help maintain a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and company property at our IGT Reno campus. The position serves as the first point of contact for emergencies and security incidents, ensuring timely response and escalation in accordance with established guidelines. This Officer will maintain a professional, courteous, security-focused presence and assist employees with escorts, directions, and badging/access-related questions in a fast-paced campus environment supporting both office and operational teams. Additionally, this role enforces security directives and applicable regulations, monitors security systems, manages access control, and completes required logs and incident reports. The position reinforces IGT’s commitment to a secure, respectful workplace by applying security procedures consistently and documenting activity to support accountability.
- Maintain the physical security of personnel and property within local IGT facilities by enforcing all security directives and regulations.
- Support the physical security of company facilities and operations globally.
- Execute procedures and processes that protect personnel and company property while meeting required codes and regulations.
- Prevent unauthorized access to company sites or spaces, and prevent the unauthorized removal, damage, or loss of company property.
- Maintain and update visitor logs and complete incident reports.
- Monitor and operate cameras, access control, intrusion detection, and alarm systems in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
- Troubleshoot routine security equipment and system issues, document findings, and escalate as needed.
- Utilize the access control system to produce badges/credentials and to activate and deactivate access to sites or spaces globally.
- Work with third-party alarm monitoring companies to respond to and resolve intrusion detection alarm incidents in accordance with established directions and guidelines.
- Observe facilities from both a fixed post and by patrolling on foot.
- Document shift activity in the Daily Activity Log.
- Work in all capacities, including single-entry point coverage, vehicle patrols, and exterior/interior patrols of property.
- Respond by foot and vehicle to incidents throughout the property that require a security presence or security intervention.
- Interact with internal customers (employees, tenants) as well as external customers such as auditors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–4 years of relevant security experience.
- Basic working knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and ordinances applicable to security operations.
- Working knowledge of security/law enforcement equipment and security protective systems (fire alarms, building access, intrusion detection, etc.).
- Experience operating CCTV, access control, and related security systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person, by phone, and through computer-based systems (email, security platforms, and incident reporting tools).
- Proficient with computers and standard business software, including Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and sound judgment.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time and conduct foot patrols as required.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- CPR / First Aid / AED certification is preferred.
- Ability to pass required background investigation.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required.

For this role, the starting compensation range is $21/hr with flexibility to adjust higher or lower based on the full scope of qualifications.
