Responsibilities

Overview

If you’ve ever wondered what determines how a game feels to play—and why players keep coming back—it starts with the math!

We’re hiring a Game Mathematician II to build and refine the systems that drive gameplay, payouts, and player experience across IGT’s portfolio.

You’ll be working at the intersection of math, software engineering, and game design—partnering with cross-functional teams to turn concepts into fully realized games, test how they perform, and fine-tune the logic behind every outcome.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement mathematical models and game logic that define gameplay and payouts

• Create and maintain PAR sheets, pay tables, and supporting math documentation

• Develop tools and models to validate game logic and underlying data

• Collaborate with art, audio, engineering, and design teams to align math with player experience

• Play-test games in development and refine math based on simulations, testing, and player feedback

• Analyze market performance data to identify trends and inform future game mechanics

• Ensure math designs meet jurisdictional requirements and industry standards

• Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and combinatorics

• Advanced Excel skills for modeling and analysis

• Programming experience or familiarity with Python, Java, C#, or C++

• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving ability

• Ability to collaborate within a cross-disciplinary game development team

• Curiosity and initiative to explore new ideas and improve gameplay
