We are seeking a highly skilled Database Developer with deep expertise in SQL development, schema design, and application-centric data engineering. In this role, you will work directly with Product and Engineering teams to design and optimise the database structures and data logic that power our applications.

You will take ownership of schema design, write high-quality SQL, improve query performance and ensure data integrity. This is a hands-on engineering role and not a production DBA position.

Key Responsibilities

· Design and evolve relational schemas, including tables, indexes, constraints, and relationships.

· Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and other database-driven logic.

· Analyse execution plans and identify improvements to performance and efficiency.

· Work hands-on with OLAP cube–based data models, including designing and modifying dimensions, hierarchies, and measures.

· Develop, optimise, and troubleshoot OLAP-related queries.

· Support feature teams with developing and maintaining the database.

· Diagnose and resolve issues involving locking, contention, inefficient joins, and indexing gaps.

· Recommend and implement indexing, partitioning, or structural improvements.

· Participate in load testing and capacity discussions related to the data layer.

· Participate in design and peer reviews.

· Mentor team members on SQL best practices, schema design, and performance techniques.

· Work within a small agile team to deliver high-quality features and continuously improve engineering practices.

· Document data structures, conventions, and patterns for broader engineering use.

Required Skills and Experience

· 4–5 years of experience in database engineering, SQL development, or backend engineering with strong data responsibilities.

· Deep expertise in MS-SQL:

o Complex joins

o Execution plan analysis

o Query optimisation

o Indexing strategy

· Experience building ETL/ELT components.

· Strong understanding of relational data modelling and schema design principles.

· Experience improving database performance through structural and query-level optimisations.

· Familiarity with Agile delivery practices.

Work Arrangement

· Role based in the Philippines.

· Fully remote from anywhere within the Philippines.

· Must have at least 6 hours of daily overlap with the Australian Eastern Time Zone (AEST/AEDT).

· Flexible working hours outside the overlap period.
