Overview
IGT’s Game Quality Assurance team creates value for IGT by ensuring our products are of the highest quality, enhancing employee productivity, and driving business efficiency and results. We maintain a highly collaborative environment and work on an exciting portfolio of projects that deliver competitive advantage.
This is an internship opportunity for students currently enrolled in a relevant academic program. As a Software QA Tester Intern, you will work closely with your team and other game development disciplines, where your contributions will directly impact product quality and the overall player experience. This position is based in Moncton, New Brunswick
Responsibilities
The Software QA Tester Intern works with other members of the test team to debug software products through systematic testing and help maintain quality standards.
- Develop, modify, and execute software test plans, automated scripts, and programs
- Analyze and write test standards and procedures
- Document test results to support debugging and software improvements
- Analyze test results and recommend corrective actions
- Collaborate with development engineers to resolve issues
- Set up and maintain test environments, including hardware, cabling, and network connectivity
- Support system integration related to computation, data acquisition, and processing
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a relevant academic program (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, or related field)
- Must be on track to successfully complete their current academic program; candidates must have passed or be expected to pass all required program assessments
- Must be eligible to graduate from their program in order to apply
- Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Experience with black-box and/or unit testing
- Experience with Jira or similar defect tracking systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience writing scripts
- Ability to independently learn and apply new concepts
Preferred
- Experience with programming/scripting languages such as Python, C++, or C#
- Experience with network protocols or network support/engineering
- Experience setting up and configuring electronic/computer hardware
