Overview
The Director of Employee Communications owns and drives enterprise internal communications at IGT.
This role is responsible for ensuring employees understand where the company is going, what is changing, and how their work connects to business outcomes—particularly during a period of integration, evolving priorities, and increased pace.
You will serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team, while building and leading a high-performing communications function.
This role operates in a fast-moving environment where priorities shift and information is not always complete. Success requires strong judgment, the ability to create clarity in complexity, and a balance of speed, accuracy, and alignment.
What You'll Lead & Own
Enterprise Communications Strategy & Direction
- Own and drive the global employee communications strategy aligned to business priorities and company evolution
- Define how IGT communicates with employees across regions, functions, and channels
- Set standards for clarity, consistency, and effectiveness across all internal communications
- Balance long-term strategy with immediate communication needs in a dynamic environment
Executive Advisory & Narrative Shaping
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team on employee communications
- Shape, challenge, and refine leadership messaging to ensure clarity, authenticity, and impact
- Provide candid counsel on message strategy, timing, and risk in high-stakes or sensitive situations
- Lead development of CEO messaging, enterprise announcements, and leadership forums
Change & Transformation Communications
- Own communications for enterprise initiatives, including integration efforts, organizational changes, and evolving business priorities
- Translate complex and evolving direction into clear, actionable messaging for employees
- Anticipate employee sentiment, questions, and risks, and proactively address them
- Deliver high-quality communications under compressed timelines and changing inputs
Internal Communications & Employee Alignment
- Lead internal communications that drive alignment, engagement, and trust across a global workforce
- Oversee core communication channels (intranet, global messaging platforms, employee events)
- Ensure employees receive timely, relevant, and meaningful information
- Champion transparent, inclusive, and two-way communication practices
Function Leadership & Team Development
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing employee communications team
- Set clear priorities, operating rhythms, and performance expectations
- Elevate the capability of the function, balancing strategic thinking with strong execution
- Manage agency partners and external resources as needed
Enterprise Alignment & Risk Management
- Ensure alignment between internal and external narratives in partnership with Corporate Communications
- Lead employee-facing communications for sensitive situations, including organizational changes and issues management
- Ensure communications meet legal, regulatory, and compliance standards
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track success metrics (engagement, reach, understanding, sentiment)
- Use data and employee feedback to continuously improve communications effectiveness
- Establish governance and best practices across the organization
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in internal, corporate, or executive communications
- Proven experience advising senior executives and shaping enterprise-level messaging
- Demonstrated ability to operate effectively in fast-moving, evolving environments
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills, including the ability to act with incomplete information
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling capabilities
- Experience in global, matrixed, and regulated organizations
Preferred
- Experience in gaming, technology, fintech, or similarly regulated industries
- Experience supporting organizational transformation, integration, or change initiatives
- Crisis and issues management experience
- Familiarity with communications platforms and analytics tools

At IGT, we believe compensation should reflect you—your unique background, skills, experience, and even where you work. That’s why our starting compensation range is $150K - $200K USD, with room to go higher or lower depending on the full picture. We also follow all local pay laws and collective bargaining agreements, so everything’s above board.
