IGT is seeking a Computer Operator III to support mission-critical 24x365 data center operations at the company's Harrisburg, PA facility. This role supports enterprise and processing monitoring, daily computer operations, incident escalation and recovery, and clear shift documentation. Working closely with interdependent teams, this role helps maintain operational continuity, respond to issues in a timely manner, and support stable day-to-day production operations. Through this work, the position supports IGT’s commitment to operational continuity, system reliability, and high-quality service.

  • Provide 24x365 operational support in a mission-critical data center environment, including system monitoring and uptime support.
  • Perform daily computer operations tasks and complete shift checklists in accordance with established procedures.
  • Execute routine system navigation and operational tasks across supported platforms, including Unix/Linux/AIX/VMS/DOS, as applicable.
  • Monitor enterprise infrastructure, systems, and processing environments, and respond to alerts or abnormal conditions in a timely manner.
  • Escalate issues as needed and follow established escalation procedures to support continuous operations.
  • Support incident response and recovery activities to help restore normal operations following system or processing interruptions.
  • Generate, review, and validate reports and system output for accuracy and clarity before release from Computer Operations.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, incident notes, handoff documentation, and stakeholder status updates.

Qualifications

  • Two-year technical degree or comparable experience.
  • Basic technical knowledge of operating systems/platforms (Unix/Linux/AIX/VMS/DOS).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard PC operating systems.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, including accurate shift/incident documentation.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow procedures and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Sound judgment, initiative, and a strong sense of urgency in a high-pressure environment.
  • High ethics, integrity, and confidentiality, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting multiple systems or technologies in a data center or operations environment.
  • Exposure to batch processing, job scheduling, or enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and standard PC operating systems.
  • Experience supporting operational processes, runbooks, and controlled documentation.

That’s why our starting compensation range is $33,800/yr to $85,176/yr USD, with room to go higher or lower depending on the full picture.
