Responsibilities

The Manager, Planning and Purchasing, oversees the company's supply chain, inventory strategies and procurement activities. This is a critical role that balances customer demand by forecasting needs, sourcing reliable vendors, and regular reviews of demand and supply to mitigate supply chain risks.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Demand Planning - Analyse historical sales data and market trends to forecast future inventory needs.
  • Inventory Control - Develop metrics to gauge inventory levels, prevent stockouts and minimise carrying costs.
  • Vendor Identification and Management - Adherence to company policy in dealing with vendors and suppliers.
  • Cross Functional Collaboration - Work with engineering, production and finance teams to support overall business objectives.
  • Supply Chain Continuity - Establish contingency plans to ensure supply, mitigate discruptions and manage operational risks.
  • Continuous Improvement - Lead the team in projects to improve efficiency, including process mapping and inventory optimisation.
  • Team Leadership - Involve in hiring, training, scheduling, performance review of team members.

About You

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering or a combination of education and equivalent work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Experience:

  • 8 - 10+ years in manufacturing, planning, and other operational processes (purchasing, engineering)
  • Experience leading and managing diverse teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with production and planning processes
  • Ability to foster excellent supplier relationships
  • In-depth understanding and success implementing safety protocols and best practices
  • Experience in developing automation tolls in planning and production is highly desirable.
