Responsibilities
The Casino Services Field Technician is autonomous and responsible for all activities in the allocated Ottawa region. Preparation, installation, troubleshooting to the component/circuit level. Servicing remotely and onsite with the ability diagnose and solve problems. Maintain, upgrade and convert IGT gaming devices. Representing IGT while at the customer site and maintaining a positive relationship with the client site. Provide initial and ongoing customers training on basic game functionality. Install and maintain fiber optic lines and WAP telephone lines. Adapt to various jurisdictions and interface with compliance policies.
- Perform troubleshooting, maintenance, preventive maintenance and installation of Point of Access (POA) equipment and communication devices used at the retailer location
- Makes pre-installation site assessments to identify parts and wiring requirements at customer location
- Performs all preparation tests including assurance hardware, firmware and system interfaces are accurate and functional
- Delivers and installs products on customer site
- Installs system to system telephonic, ether net and wireless (S2S)
- Installs game to system telephonic, ether net and wireless (G2S)
- Installs game to game and bank to bank, telephonic, ether net and wireless (G2G) Carries out assigned portion of hardware and software conversions and upgrades
- Performs planned and preventative maintenance
- Responds to customer issues for games and system interface
- Supports software and system integration verification tests for jackpots
- Performs accurate and timely tracking and reporting on activities utilizing SAP and other software tools
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-4 years of experience installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing electronics, electro-mechanical, telecom or computer equipment required preferable with IGT equipment and gaming system products.
- Experience with AC/DC fundamentals
- Reading and translating wiring diagrams
- Maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting to component/circuit level
- Testing programs with verification devices such as Kobetron and Chip Comparator
- Troubleshooting with input and output tests
Special Requirements:
- Valid driver license and clean driving record
- Able to obtain a Gaming License
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Able to lift 50 lbs or more
- Able to pass a Security Background Investigation
- Work overtime as required
- Available to work on weekends
- Able to stand an eight-hour shift
- Ability to travel and provide support to allotted region (Calgary and surrounding areas)
- Home based office will be required
