Position Overview
IGT is seeking a Platform Automation Engineer to join our Casino Systems Platform Engineering team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, supporting, and continuously improving the automation, infrastructure, and software delivery capabilities that enable engineering teams to build, test, deploy, and operate casino products efficiently and reliably.
The ideal candidate is passionate about automation, cloud-native technologies, and developer productivity. You will work closely with software, QA, release, and platform engineering teams to eliminate manual processes, improve delivery workflows, and build scalable, repeatable solutions that enhance engineering efficiency and operational excellence. This position provides opportunities to gain hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Infrastructure as Code, GitOps, CI/CD platforms, and modern software delivery practices while contributing to the evolution of IGT's Platform Engineering capabilities.
Responsibilities
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Argo CD.
• Develop and support infrastructure automation using Terraform, Ansible, and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Support Kubernetes-based application platforms and deployment environments.
• Contribute to platform engineering initiatives that improve developer productivity, self-service capabilities, automation, observability, and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, platform, build, and deployment issues across development, test, and production environments.
• Support AWS and on-premises environments used throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with development teams to improve software delivery workflows, deployment reliability, and developer experience.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and automation procedures.
• Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and continuous improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
• 2-4 years of experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Engineering, Infrastructure Automation, or related technical roles.
• Experience working with Windows and Linux systems and troubleshooting technical issues.
• Experience with Git and modern source control practices.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of CI/CD concepts and software delivery practices.
• Understanding of containers and Kubernetes.
• Basic knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Backstage or other Internal Developer Platform (IDP) technologies.
• Exposure to FinOps practices, reporting, or data analysis.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure as Code technologies.
• Experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD platforms.
• Familiarity with Argo CD, Helm, and GitOps deployment practices.
• Hands-on software development experience building enterprise applications, services, or APIs using technologies such as .NET, Java, or similar languages is a plus.
• Understanding of DevSecOps practices and software quality tooling.
