Responsibilities
The Mechanical Engineer designs and analyzes mechanical systems, equipment and packaging.
- Conducts feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs.
- Directs support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication.
- Provides design information to drafting for packaging documentation.
- Exercises discretion and independent judgment in designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, parts, and assembly of product equipment, signage, and merchandising.
- Customarily and regularly develops solutions and performs prototype testing for product validation and design verification.
- Customarily and regularly creates and shares engineering data with cross-functional teams; including parts and assembly drawings, bills of material, and engineering change orders.
- Utilizes engineering principles and best practices in designing parts and assemblies for sheet metal fabrication, vacuum forming, injection molding, and machining.
- Actively works on multiple projects, coordinating design tasks and timelines with management.
- May act as a point of contact for vendors.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree; an advanced degree is preferred.
Experience:
- 5 years of work experience; 2 years of related experience is required.
