Overview

The position of Engineering Manager is responsible for implementing the Product roadmap of their areas of responsibility aligning with Product Management, the field delivery organizations, architecture etc. This position plays a key role in attaining the company's strategic goals by making sound tactical decisions with minimal intervention from senior management. Makes recommendations on strategic issues. Responsible for staffing and execution of product efforts. Handles product resources aligned to the Manager’s product areas. This role is directly responsible for product software output in alignment with architectural principles, IGT standards, reusability, flexibility and the highest quality. 

This Engineering Manager position opening is for the area of Connected Play Applications. This role would be responsible for development, delivery and support of next generation, cloud native, multi-tenant Lottery system gateway solutions. This role will collaborate closely with Product Management to offer technical advice on the product roadmap and ultimately implement that roadmap. This role will also collaborate closely with delivery organizations to ensure that the products are easily deployable, operated efficiently, and supported ideally.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategic agenda for the product line with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and other departments.
  • Develop organizational strategy and direction, assembling a team to complete ongoing support needs.
  • Define technical product strategy and direction; prioritize product requirements, feature and functionality; develop product roadmaps; recommend product direction.
  • Partner closely with engineering to develop detailed and actionable requirements and to assist with the timely execution of product development to specification in the agile development process.
  • Review progress continually through product life cycle to ensure attainment of objectives -- makes course corrections when and where necessary to achieve goals.
  • Partner with other members of the Product Management team to develop integrated product plans across the product portfolio
  • Work with development groups during the development cycle to ensure the product meets customer requirements and perform the right tradeoffs and prioritization.
  • Meet with customers, field, business partners and other industry sources to identify functional requirements.
  • Drive strategic agenda for the product line with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Marketing & other departments
  • Completes product strategy by defining and prioritizing requirements, features, and functionality, developing product roadmaps, and recommending product direction.
  • Partners closely with engineering to develop detailed and actionable requirements and execution of product deliverables
  • Partners closely with operations to lead the running of product offerings
  • Drives product lifecycle, makes necessary modifications to achieve goals
  • Partners with Security & Legal teams to develop an integrated plan across the solutions.
  • Partner closely with all appropriate organizations to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assists supervisor in the definition of assignments; analyzes assignments into specific tasks for respective staff. Plans and tracks progress.
  • Plans typically cover one to twelve months into the future. Communicates progress via regular written and verbal communications. Provides Software Management with input regarding future assignments, requirements, etc. May serve as primary contact for one or more Product areas.
  • Ensures that plans follow appropriate approval routes and that all project requirements are balanced within allocated resources.
  • Maintains adequate staffing levels within the constraints of the overall budget. Provides staff with career development, counseling, and performance appraisals.
  • Leads and motivates staff. Responsible for adherence to corporate departmental policies, procedures and standards (including design and coding standards).
  • Develops and manages specific budget(s) for area of responsibility. Responsible for all group expenditures.

Qualifications

  • Higher education, preferably in information technology
  • 5-8 years of experience in IT
  • Leadership experience

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $74,961- $164,800. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
