Responsibilities
We are currently looking for a Data Scientist on a full time, direct hire basis. In this role, the engineer will have responsibility for medium to complex projects in providing technology leadership to the Business Intelligence Applications Team in developing the most effective BI solutions for our internal products and our external customers. This position will work on implementations of Business Objects and Tableau based Business Intelligence Solutions.
- Principle duties include designing and mapping the clients marketing information model to deliver performance management dashboards, scorecards, reports, and ad-hoc reporting environments using a combination of any or all of and Business Objects based BI and interactive visualization tools.
- The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders as well as the BI Application Team developers and analysts to develop guiding principles and best practices for determining which BI tools will be needed for a particular information requirement. For example, Discovery vs. Dashboards vs. Answers.
- This individual must be able understand business functional requirements and reporting tool functionality; synthesize the requirements and business intelligence capabilities into functional specifications; prepare technical specifications; and develop and test the final product. The solutions will contain ad-hoc query, drill-down, slice and dice capabilities, static reporting, managed queries, and dashboards.
- Focus on the development of solution approaches and designs for individual projects based on functional requirements and project objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, customization and integration efforts to deploy these solutions.
- Manage technical assessment and design activities for medium to large Business Intelligence solutions (primary focus is on Business Objects and Tableau).
- Ensure the alignment of technical solutions with established IT standards and business objectives.
- Address and resolve routine design issues using standard issue resolution methodologies.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of design, development, and integration processes.
- Deliver effective verbal and written communications to technical and business stakeholders regarding the BI solution design.
- Discuss technical concepts, issues and ideas with technology and business stakeholders by initiating collaborative discussions, public speaking forums, and presentations.
Qualifications
We are looking for 4-5 yrs experience skilled resource comfortable in both frontend and backend programming. Having real-time hands-on experience and responsible in developing and designing frontend with JavaScript framework such as Angular and on the Java backend with Java8/Spring/Hibernate/JPA/Spring Boot/Python/SQL.

Resource with at least 4 years of experience in Business Intelligence tools Power BI and/or Tableau.

Skills around developing Power BI reports, visuals, understanding and writing new DAX/MDX expressions, creating dashboards.

Understanding Datasets and PowerQuery and data modelling.

Having knowledge on Azure fundamentals and AAD integration is an added advantage.

Proficient in SQL.

Databases any knowledge on DB2 is helpful.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $54,500 - $105,000. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .
