Game Mathematician (Quality Assurance)

Overview

IGT PlayDigital is seeking an experienced Game Mathematician to join us in delivering the next generation of digital casino products for a worldwide audience. 

A vital part of this process is ensuring that every game’s math is accurate, compliant for all target jurisdictions, and non-exploitable. Additionally, mathematicians are also called upon to validate outcomes in the field or investigate unusual player sessions. With ever-evolving regulations, new emerging markets, and ever more innovative game mechanics, a love of details, an “always learning” mindset, and a healthy respect for compliance-related issues are key to your success. 

Due to our international structure, IGT provides you with a challenging multicultural environment where you can use your initiative and contribute to the realization of the company’s targets. This remote position offers the opportunity to work from anywhere while working directly with our online studio in the Pacific time zone and support our studios in Manchester, Belgrade, and Timisoara.

What You’ll Do

Independently verify accuracy of all PlayDigital original math, as well as any game math modified significantly from its original form 
Work with the game’s designer to communicate and resolve any issues found 
Investigate initial states for all games to determine any situations or strategies that could be exploited to a player’s advantage   
Check math against jurisdictional restrictions 
Verify paperwork is accurate and contains all current standard information 
May be called on to verify jackpot awards or other large wins 
Assist in investigating anomalous sessions as requested by operators 
Opportunities to make prototype math or actual prototypes for innovation pitches

About You

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, or computer science) or equivalent experience
Strong knowledge of Combinatorics, Probability Theory, and Statistics
Proficient in programming C++, C#, or similar language, for simulating game logic
Strong critical thinking skills, attention to details, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills and must be able to clearly explain and present technical and non-technical ideas in English
