As part of the Lottery Data Center Operations, the TeleComm Tech is responsible for general technical support of the servers and communication systems. This person will support the Field Services and Data Center teams by providing reports, software updates, system status, troubleshooting, and end user support.


Customer Relationship

  • Provide a relentless commitment to meeting and exceeding customers’ expectations while also achieving the goal of reducing the risks and costs of providing services

  • Works to build an effective partnership with the customer on a daily basis

  • Listens to customers and asks the appropriate questions to determine their requirements

  • Adheres to service level agreements by following established SLA performance requirements



  • Entry level troubleshooting of network systems according to established procedures and using existing tools under supervision

  • Network monitoring by confirming tool set availability, using tools for verification of services, and detecting, reporting, escalating, tracking, and documenting anomalies according to established procedures

  • Accurately executes operational checklists to ensure that all maintenance activities, change requests, network system functionality, validation of network system locations/status, and internal/external customer requests are completed

  • Performs release management process and assigned network hardware/software release actions

  • Assists the systems team in planning efforts associated with network projects and releases

  • Supports local testing policies and procedures

  • Generate, create and update reports to support FSTs, management or The Lottery

  • Maintain, support, and update Lottery’s terminals by broadcasting new software or parameters

  • Work with the System Admin to maintain and keep in good health the status of the communication servers

  • Work with QA and Field Services making use of tools to support new terminal installations and software releases

  • Troubleshoot via phone and escalate accordingly

Education Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent


Experience Required

  • 2+ years of dedicated technical support, helpdesk, I.T. or data center related job experience


Skills Required

  • Entry level knowledge of server administration, TeleComm systems, LAN/WAN technology, etc

  • Entry level knowledge of network equipment such as firewalls, switches, routers, etc.

  • Experienced in end user support, customer service, or tier 1 response role

  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality

  • A high degree of professionalism and work ethic coupled with a sense of responsibility and integrity

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, dependability, and ability to communicate with all levels in the organization 

  • Ability to work under minimal supervision and tight time constraints

  • Ability to work independently, but also partner as a team player

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with management level staff, suppliers, and customers

  • Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one, via telephone, documents/forms, and email using 

  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment


Preferred Education, Experience or Skills

  • Associate’s Degree a plus but not required

  • Bachelor’s Degree a plus but not required

  • Industry specific I.T. related training or certifications a plus but not required
