Responsible for systems administration for specific 3rd party/layered product support: Business Objects, Oracle, Tomcat, AIX, Operating System (OS) software configurations and designs.  Also provides ongoing technical support for the same. Serves as liaison between site technology resources and the customer, as needed.  Works collaboratively with the assigned Data Analyst position for all Business Objects matters.    

•    Installation, configuration, security implementation, disaster recovery for SAP Business Objects Enterprise Product Suite platform. 
•    Install, test, configure, maintain, upgrade, administer, monitor and troubleshoot server hardware, software, and firmware, especially P Series Hardware, AIX, Tomcat, Oracle and SAP Business Objects.
•    Plan for growth, deployment architectures, sizing based on requirements and extending existing infrastructure. 
•    Architect solutions using SAP Business Objects Enterprise Product Suite (IDT/Universe designer, Web Intelligence, SAP Integration with BI 4.2/BI 4.1, SSO AD/SAP, SAP Design Studio) 
•    Trouble shooting on BI Launchpad, Business Objects client tools connectivity. 
•    Work closely with business teams to ensure development adheres to the company standards and procedures while ensuring it does not impact other users and systems.
•    Customize and configure Business Objects Universes for efficient reporting and data analysis.
•    Ensure the Business Objects Universe conforms to BI standards for key performance indicators and security rules. 
•    Establish viable tests, quality assurance, standby, and production systems. 
•    Provide support for SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence software and reporting.
•    Install system software into appropriate test, quality assurance, production, or standby environments.
•    Maintain, review, and follow change control procedures for production, quality assurance, test, and standby server systems.
•    Review planning and implementation documentation and verify successful installation.
•    Stay abreast of and judiciously implement the most current release of software and operating system, including patches for security vulnerabilities. 
•    Research compatibility issues with other vendor software and utilities; evaluate and test new server or desktop products and features, as relevant.
•    Obtain relevant documentation for problem analysis and determine causes of system failure, as relevant.
•    Design back out / backup / restore procedures.
•    Evaluate new hardware and software, as necessary.
•    Implement, and tune optimum configuration values to ensure stable and efficient AIX server environments, using established industry methods and best practices.
•    Aid in development and review of training materials for new and existing technology.



•    Bachelor of Science Degree or equivalent required.
•    Minimum of 8 years practical system administration experience and 3-4 years of relevant experience.
•    Experience in system administration with P Series Hardware, AIX and SAP Business Objects, as well as SAP Business Objects with Tomcat and Oracle.
•    Experience in Administration of SAP Business Objects Enterprise (BI4.2/BI4.1/BI4.0) 
•    Experience working on various Proof of Concepts (POCs) while contributing to new BI concepts and technical ideas. 
•    Experience with BO reporting tools (Web Intelligence, Desktop Intelligence, Crystal Report Designer, Universe Designer, SAP Design Studio etc.) 
•    Expert in performance aspects of SAP Business Objects Suite. 
•    Strong experience in building, deploying and operating complex Business Objects systems within medium-large clustered environments. 
•    Must have excellent troubleshooting, diagnostic & analytical skills with emphasis on migrating legacy Business Objects environments. 
•    Self-motivated, excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task.

•    Understanding of configurations in CMC. 
•    Familiarity with upgrade management tools. 
•    Experience in other BI tools like Tableau, Lumira, and SAS.
