Role

The Process Inspector III will be able to ensure product quality, configuration accuracy, and regulatory compliance through in process and end of line inspection activities. This position will report to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and will support plant Reno manufacturing and supporting operations. Focuses on delivering quality product to customers on time, improving processes, and the resolution of issues related to quality and the production of slot machines and other gaming related equipment. This position is the next in line to the In Process Inspector IV role and duties will include some In Process Inspector IV responsibilities.

Must be able to perform all In Process Inspector II duties at advanced level in addition to level III duties. Quality Inspectors ensure that each gaming device is compliant with the regulatory requirements specified by IGT’s Compliance team in accordance with federal, state and tribal regulatory agencies and that each gaming device conforms to IGT workmanship standards and meets customer expectations through the functions listed below:

Description

 

  • Performing functional testing of all electronic gaming devices in accordance to established Test Engineering criteria.
  • Performing the wiping and/or removal of regulated software from gaming devices prior to shipment to customers and regulatory agencies.
  • Validates order configuration in SAP to actual production outputs
  • Has an advanced understanding of SAP/MES as it relates to configuration, allocations, bills of materials and compliance requirements
  • Inspects each electronic gaming device to established workmanship criteria prior to release to shipment.
  • Has advanced understanding of SAP as it relates to configuration, allocations, bills of materials and compliance requirements. 
  • Knowledgeable in business processes within plant Reno manufacturing, logistics, and engineering support groups.
  • Interact with internal customers to troubleshoot and resolve issues holding up an order or process.
  • Analysis of the situation, business practice or data requires a thorough review and detailed investigation.

Additional Responsibilities

  • This position requires strong attention to detail, independent problem-solving skills and self-starting initiative.
  • Works closely with customer facing groups including Global Order Management, Engineering, and Production Control.
  • Recognizes deviations from routine practices and implements appropriate next steps.
  • Recognizes trends, summarizes, communicates, and takes appropriate next steps 
  • Motivates, trains and mentors less experienced personnel to achieve production quality goals.
  • Uses measuring tools and gauges to ensure product is within Quality Workmanship Standards.

Specific Accountabilities

  • Follow the company’s code of conduct and provide an example to area employees.
  • Monitor compliance with established policies and procedures within the area. This includes all process instructions, ISO documents, safety and regulatory compliance policies and procedures.
  • Provide input to the QA Tech IV and Supervisor for process improvements and measure the effectiveness of the changes.
  • Utilize SAP to research build and material allocation issues.
  • Determine acceptability of production materials that are questionable, non-conforming, or damaged.
  • Perform first article and incoming material inspection.
  • Review and disposition nonconforming material.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Business or relevant experience. 
  • Minimum 5 years manufacturing experience. 
  • 3 years SAP functional experience. 
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint. 
  • Must be able to obtain a Nevada Gaming Control Board gaming card.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently, written and oral, in a group or presentation setting.
