Overview

We are looking for a dynamic UX Design Lead to join our team and drive the design strategy and execution of our Connected Play solution, with a mission to modernize and enhance Lottery players’ experience at retail by bridging the gap between retail and digital channels.

 

Connected Play is a suite of digital products that enable the modernization of the lottery retail play experience. These products include lottery mobile app, digital play slips, mobile ticket checker, mobile prize claims, second chance sweepstakes, player registration, etc.

 

You will play a crucial role in shaping the user experience of our products. You will manage a team of UX designers, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, engaging, and user-friendly designs for iOS, Android, and web applications. You will be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of usability and align with our business goals and user needs.

 

Reports to the Head of Connected Play Product Management.

 

Location:

This position is based in IGT’s offices in Rhode Island (West Greenwich or Providence).

Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy:

  • Lead and mentor a team of UX designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative design culture.
  • Develop and implement UX strategies that align with business objectives and user needs.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles across the organization.

Design & development:

  • Lead all aspects of the end-to-end UX design process, from user research and concept development to final design and implementation.
  • Create and refine user personas, journey maps, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Design interfaces for iOS, Android, and Web applications that are visually appealing, intuitive, and user-friendly.
  • Iterate mobile app UIs based on market feedback and player testing to continually improve usability and address user needs and preferences.
  • Maintain design consistency across all applications and features by using style guides and style sheets.
  • Conduct usability testing and player research to gather insights and data.

Collaboration & communication:

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other collaborators to ensure design feasibility and alignment with product vision.
  • Present user interface concepts and designs clearly and optimally to the development team for implementation, incorporating feedback and iterating designs as needed.
  • Facilitate workshops and design sprints to drive innovative solutions and team alignment.
  • Work closely with Front-end engineers to ensure seamless implementation of design requirements, providing vital design assets, and ensuring the design vision is maintained in the final product.

Quality & standards:

  • Establish and maintain design guidelines, standards, and standard methodologies to ensure consistency and quality across all products. Including compliance standards such as ADA and WCAG.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest UI/UX trends and industry-standard processes.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years experience as a Mobile App Designer and a strong UI portfolio
  • 3+ years experience leading a UI/UX team
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in UI/UX, computer design, or related field.
  • You possess a solid understanding of leading UI/UX tools
  • Solid understanding of UX compliance standards and regulations including ADA, WCAG, etc.
  • You have a keen eye for aesthetics and detail
  • You are a great teammate
  • Ability to gather and review usage and player behavior analytics and adjust flows and experience to improve usability and reduce friction.
  • Ability to influence without authority, working with technical and cross-functional teams who do not report to this role to get things done.
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to present designs, insights, and recommendations persuasively, skill, and confidence in dealing with people at all levels of organization.
  • Ability to learn new business areas, processes, tools, and technologies, as needed.
  • Proven track record in prioritizing and running multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability to travel (up to 20% of the time)
  • Ability to work across multiple time zones internationally if required.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $74,961- $164,800. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
