Overview

Responsible for designing, planning, and implementing modifications to a hybrid cloud architecture (in conjunction with engineering), including security, access, and documentation. Provides technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and developing systems and procedures as they relate to the full stack servers, systems and applications that are delivered.  Partakes in the creation of a well-informed hybrid cloud strategy and administers the adaption processes.
 

Responsibilities

* Works with internal and external stakeholders to define / design hybrid architecture and operational procedures.
* Plans and oversees / manages operational tasks for newly created instances and on prem migrations.
* Contributes to long term hybrid cloud strategy given legal, regulatory and customer needs.
* Define and implement CI/CD strategy that allows for increased operational readiness within a set of methods, templates, and tools.
* Works with engineering to recommend system development to take advantage of CI/CD architecture with automation and efficiency as key principals.
* Evaluates cloud systems, software services and vendors at regular intervals and makes recommendations for changes.
* Proposes suggestions and best practices to optimize performance, security, and cost.
* Reacts to production incidents and major incidents to resolve issues and defines recommendations and changes to prevent further issues.
* Provide training for team members.

Qualifications

* Minimum education: Bachelor's degree with a technical major or equivalent experience.
* Years’ experience: 8 to 12 years of related experience with degree
* Azure and/or AWS expertise in design and implement cloud components covering servers, network, storage, and etc. Certification preferred. 
* Highly proficient with Linux. 
* Experience with PostgreSQL and/or other RDBMS preferred. 
* Proficient with CI/CD automation tools. 
* Experience with containers preferred. 
* Strong hands-on experience scripting/coding in Shell, Python, Java, and etc. 
* Experience with architecting, implementing and maintaining highly available mission critical environments for 24x7 availability.
* Intermediate level ability to create, modify, test, implement and maintain scripts (YAML, DCL, Perl, Powershell, Bash, Python, SQL, VI, etc.)
* Good knowledge of change and incident management tools
* Intermediate level ability to detect, analyze, troubleshoot, and escalate database incidents
* Advanced level ability to forecast, recommend, and implement capacity planning
* Intermediate level knowledge of industry and local audit requirements
* Intermediate level knowledge of IP protocol and LAN topology
