Overview

IGT is looking for a Software Architect. In this vital role with the IGT Play Digital Architecture team, you will work with various engineering teams, product assurance, and product management to help shape the future of IGT’s Online Casino Gaming business, with a focus on Online Casino Systems Architecture. 
 

Responsibilities

* Architect end to end data solutions including data collection/storage, data modeling, and data consumption
* Use RDBMS and big data technologies to architect/design distributed, fault-tolerant, and scalable data solutions.
* Stay current on cloud trends and research new service offerings
* Assess the impact of architecturally relevant product changes and document preferred implementation paths
* Perform periodic proof-of-concepts (POCs) to validate or demonstrate key architecture or technology proposals
* Support development efforts by reviewing designs, participating in code reviews, and supporting efforts to resolve critical issues where appropriate
* Periodically review and document the architectural state of various products
* Present architectural roadmaps and solutions to internal and external stakeholders

Qualifications

* BSCS degree or equivalent, plus 15 years of experience or MS degree plus 12 years of software development experience.
* Minimum of 12 years of software development in a major programming language (Java) is required
* Experience in integrating system software from multiple providers
* Experience with product developed and deployed as SaaS solutions (multi-tenancy, etc.) is required
* Experience with internet-based technologies including (but not limited to) Java/J2EE, SQL/NoSQL databases and web client presentation technologies such HTML5/JavaScript etc.
* Experience with micro-services architecture and patterns
* Working experience in Cloud based environments such as AWS, Azure or other cloud platform platforms is required
* Experience with various application layer messaging approaches, such as HTTP/REST, SOAP, etc.
* Solid understanding of software architectural patterns & practices

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with containers and Kubernetes
* Experience with distributed transaction algorithms (Two-phase commit, Saga, and other patterns)
* Experience with DevOps.
* Experience with HTML5 and/or mobile app development
* Excellent organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and have a high level of interpersonal skills. Must be a self-motivated team player with the ability to work in a customer oriented, very fast-paced and demanding environment with minimal supervision. Must be at least 21 years old. Must be able to work overtime as needed. A security investigation will be conducted. Some travel may be required.
