The Senior Director Finance, North America Lottery supports the North America lottery organization to achieve short, medium and long-term strategic and financial goals. In this role, the selected candidate will be responsible for leading a team dedicated to supporting the financial systems. The Sr. Director will report directly to the CFO, Global Lottery Finance and will have a matrix relationship with the VP Global Lottery FP&A.


The role requires the ability to coordinate all financial activities, including those that do not report directly into this position (e.g. the Accounting shared-services function, Corporate led functions like Technical accounting, Treasury, Tax) so as to provide the North America Lottery business leadership with the required financial and operational metrics to drive tactical and strategic decisions. 
This role manages financial reporting and analysis deliverables related to the North America Lottery business, with the goal of accelerating top-line revenue growth, enhancing profitability and cash flow generation, protecting the business assets, mitigating risks, and highlighting potential opportunities to improve the business


•    Translates the business unit's financial strategies into tactical plans, reporting requirements, procedures and processes
•    Responsibilities include developing and overseeing financial plans and policies, accounting practices and procedure, and the organization's financial relationship with segment FP&A organization to ensure that financial and strategic goals are attained.
o    Lead coordination and calendar planning for North America Lottery organization for month end close, all financial forecasts (typically 5/year) and annual 5-year budget planning cycle
o    Responsible for completion reporting packages inclusive of financial results, KPIs, and analysis comparisons to prior periods and budget/forecast for North America Lottery 
o    Responsible for coordination of agendas and financial components of monthly Operations Review presentations, working with segment CFO and business unit COO
o    Provide value-added analysis and interpretation of revenue and cost trends
o    Recommend modifications to new and existing processes and reporting to improve the timeliness and quality of key deliverables
o    Responsible for responding to ad hoc reporting requests from segment FP&A 
o    Manage and develop a core team of finance professionals who are geographically dispersed

Required Experience

o    Leadership
    Accomplished management skills and demonstrated ability to develop team 
    Ability to set the financial agenda for the business unit, driving continuous improvement and efficiencies on tactical and structural activities
    Self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team
    Relationship management across all levels of a comparable size/structure organization
    High level of emotional intelligence and communication skills
    5+ years of team leadership experience

o    FP&A Competencies
    Excellent analytical, financial and business acumen. Able to succinctly interpret data and frame business issues in a straightforward manner and communicate them effectively to senior management 
    Highly organized with ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
    Developing efficient and effective solutions to diverse and complex business problems
    Effectively leading multiple projects and balancing competing priorities
    Proficient in SAP, BPC/Hyperion Planning Application, Excel and PowerPoint

o    Accounting Competencies
    Knowledge of US GAAP, in particular ASC 606 (Revenue Recognition) and aspects related to managing balance sheet assets including policies and requirements related to Capitalization and Asset Impairments
    Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency
    Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue. Participates in annual audits and special projects
    Work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes.

•    Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field, MBA and/or CPA designation preferred
•    12+ years of progressive experience in financial planning & analysis and/or accounting
