Overview
The System Administrator is a part of our Local operations team based in Louisville, KY. It is not a remote role. Together, with our global colleagues, they will provide 7x24x365 support for our Lottery and iLottery gaming systems. The successful candidate will have operations and support experience to include monitoring, diagnosing, and escalating issues with our complete Linux based tech stack. Candidate will also be responsible for providing desktop, laptop, and device support as needed within the Kentucky jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
The Systems Administrator defines, designs and administers network systems used for data communications and recommends improvements necessary to ensure operation of the company's high traffic, business critical internet production environment.
• Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of telecommunications, computer systems, network servers, field service equipment, and virtualization
• Troubleshoot hardware, network and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
• Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
• Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance and maintenance
• Assist in the monitoring of system and network performance.
• Routine patch management for desktop and server operating systems and identification of critical security patches required for enterprise systems.
• Cross train with team members in different business segments.
• Author, update, and maintain production procedures and technical papers.
• Other technical or leadership requirements as needed.
Qualifications
• 2-3 years of related experience is required.
• Experience with Linux OS preferred.
• Experience in VMware and/or virtual server environment administration preferred.
• Experience creating automation and system administration scripts a plus.
• Excellent team skills, must be thorough, must have excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
• Demonstrate initiative and be results oriented with flexibility and tenacity.
• Ability to work in a dynamic 24/7/365 cross-organizational team environment.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $39,848 - $103,002. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program. Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .
