Job Summary

This experienced midlevel professional will be responsible for enhancing and executing IGT’s patent licensing program. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen and patent licensing experience and be responsible for generating revenue from IGT’s substantial patent portfolio, the largest in the gaming industry. In addition to managing all aspects of IGT’s existing patent licensing program, you will work closely with IGT’s business and legal leaders to identify additional patent licensing opportunities and drive execution by developing go-to-market plans, identifying evidence of use and, in conjunction with the legal team, negotiating and closing license agreements. Las Vegas, Nevada is the preferred location for this position, but remote candidates will be considered as well. This position will report to IGT's Deputy General Counsel - Gaming and Intellectual Property.


  • Technical degree in computer science, physics, mathematics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or computer engineering
  • 5-10 years of patent licensing experience
  • Strong commercial experience    
  • Strong technical experience with both hardware and software
  • Exceptional negotiation and communication skills with demonstrated success in closing deals
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex concepts and issues effectively with all levels of management
  • Ability to multi-task and work quickly and collaboratively under tight deadlines to meet established deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills 
  • Ability to read and understand patents and license agreements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience drafting patent claim charts
  • Experience negotiating patent license and assignment agreements
  • Background in US and worldwide patent law along with the current issues related thereto
  • Patent valuation experience
  • Past gaming business experience
