Overview

At IGT, we pride ourselves on offering an exceptional opportunity for driven individuals to join a world-class team in the heart of Lakeland, FL. As an outstanding Premedia Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in crafting print-ready files for flexographic plating. Your contributions will ensure that digital artwork meets our high printing standards. Collaborate with our Creative Designer to ensure all artwork adheres to specifications. Additionally, you will support the flexographic plating process by producing flawless finished plates as needed.

Responsibilities

PreMedia

  • Format and proof both text and images submitted by designers into finished files ready for printing.
  • Review all print jobs to confirm that all necessary information is present and meets established specifications.
  • Coordinate with the Account Services, Creative Design, and Press teams to address and implement vital changes.
  • Coordinate the effective configuration, operation, and maintenance of the digital proofing systems, ensuring color curves are calibrated based on press fingerprinting.
  • Prepare files for inserts and point-of-sale materials to be printed on our internal digital press.

 

Plate Making

  • Set up plate exposure equipment and load film flats and underdeveloped printing plates.
  • Ensure the vacuum frame and glass are free of dust, debris, and other contaminants.
  • Process exposure for the appropriate amount of time and perform manual, as well as step and repeat operations.
  • Inspect finished plates or proofs for flaws, accurate positioning, and accurate exposure using standard scales and loop.
  • Send proofs for approval as required.
  • Build plates from approved proofs or film and forward them to the Plate Mounter.

Qualifications

  • Adherence to all company policies, including Code of Conduct, Confidentiality, Information Security, and Environmental Compliance.

 

Education Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

 

Experience Required

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in flexographic or similar printing premedia/prepress operations.
  • At least 5 years of overall experience in graphic design, commercial printing, or related premedia/prepress skills.

 

Skills Required

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, etc.).
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat).
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate shared drives, folders, and files on the company server.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital prepress, page imposition, printing methods, and premedia/prepress procedures.
  • Familiarity with ESKO/Artworks Systems for establishing workflows and troubleshooting RIP file problems.
  • Physical ability to stand/walk for 50% of the day, bend, lift materials up to 50 lbs, and reach at or above shoulder height.
  • Excellent time management, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a dedication to quality.
  • Ability to work under minimal direction within tight time constraints.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaborate effectively as a great teammate.

 

Preferred Education, Experience or Skills

  • An Associate's Degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Experience in the printing, manufacturing, or lottery industry is a plus.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $39,848 - $103,002. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.

 

Base pay is only one part of our Total Rewards program.  Sales roles may be eligible for commission payments, while other roles are eligible for discretionary bonuses .  In addition, we offer employees a 401(k) Savings Plan with Company contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, life, accident, and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, wellness programs, and identity theft insurance.
