Responsibilities
The People Partner (HR Generalist) works closely with leadership in the implementation of corporate policies related to human resources, organizational and employee development at the Lakeland, Florida instant-ticket printing facility. Consults with employees and managers to address root causes of human resources issues, attempting to resolve employee relations issues with a systematic approach. This person will work with managers to support them in various P&T processes, tactical actions, and employee engagement initiatives. This person will be able to positively influence change across the organization and must be able to partner with the leadership in defining business needs and developing the scope of related projects. This position requires the ability to set and manage to tight timelines and partner well with other groups in an ever-changing environment. Key skills and abilities include coaching, influencing, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Sr Mgr P&T Business Partner in business unit P&T function of the assigned site.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Coach and consult with managers and team members on various people issues by:
- Identifying and clarifying problems.
- Evaluating and implementing solutions.
- Coaching and counseling managers and team members as needed.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Guide teams on the consistent application of people focused polices and best practices.
- Understand the IGT People Strategy and your role in helping to achieve its objectives.
- Assist with escalated employee relations issues and concerns working with internal partners and senior leaders to determine resolutions. Must be experienced with internal investigatory processes and how to ensure outcomes are fair, consistent, and compliant with company policies and applicable laws and regulations.
- Establish rapport and create open lines of communication across functions and locations.
- Understand the drivers of employee engagement and work to continuously improve the work environment and organization culture.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for employee questions and concerns regarding company policies and procedures for a 24-hour operation.
- Assist with administering corporate programs, including but not limited to, benefits, compliance training, performance management. This includes 1:1 assistance and training of all users.
- Facilitate other miscellaneous administrative tasks to support the employee engagement at the facility.
- Manages contingent workforce vendor relationship for staff augmentation and contingent workforce processes.
- Coordinates and manages contingent workforce conversions through process life cycle.
- Effective onboarding of new hires to include coordinating start date, scheduling and conducting orientation onboarding, support for employee related questions or issues during onboarding process.
- Supports reporting requirements related to staffing, position management, turnover, etc.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
Qualifications

Education Required (high school, college degree, training, or certifications requirements)
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business, Psychology, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field of study
Experience Required (years of experience, specific industry or previous job experience requirements)
- 3-5 years of HR Generalist experience supporting large employee populations of 300 plus
Skills Required (software, technical, industry, equipment, lifting, and physical requirements)
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to handle stressful situations calmly
- Ability to establish and sustain relationships at all levels of the organization
- Demonstrated ability to gather, analyze, and utilize data to influence business decisions
- Experience with creating lasting change using intentional organizational design and development practices
- Demonstrated success working in a fast paced, matrix environment involving close coordination with HR centers of expertise. Ability to quickly learn new skills, systems, and procedures.
- Full knowledge of legal implications of the employment relationship
- Understands where the data sits and how to combine it to support actions and decisions
- Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset and familiarity with continuous improvement practices
- Excellent project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet time-sensitive deadlines
- Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as a team member
- Strong business acumen
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to process quality
- A high degree of professionalism and strong work ethic with a sense of responsibility and integrity
- Experience supporting hourly and shift employee populations preferred
- Ability to quickly learn new skills, systems, and procedures
Preferred Education, Experience or Skills (preferred degree(s), software, experience, equipment, etc)
- Experience from manufacturing, printing, gaming, or lottery industry
- SHRM or HRCI certification
