IGT Indiana, of IGT, partners with the State Lottery Commission of Indiana to enhance net income to the State of Indiana in a socially responsible manner through the sales of Hoosier Lottery tickets. Generating more than $1.5 billion in sales annually, IGT Indiana is responsible for marketing, product development, sales, technology, and operations functions for and on behalf of the Hoosier Lottery. 

The Regional Promotions Specialist position (based in Indianapolis at the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters office) will work across fields to ensure that the investment in public relations, sponsorships and event marketing results in increased relevance and sales on behalf of the Hoosier Lottery. Marketing events build engaging trial and engagement opportunities with players, as well as on-site sales opportunities. This role will build compelling community partnerships and implement successful, fun and entertaining promotional event activations at sporting events, concerts, State Fair events, community festivals and retail locations. This role is aligned around the Hoosier Lottery brand’s specific business and sponsorship objectives. The marketing team is a full 360 organization including brand management, media and advertising, public relations, retail, interactive/digital/social, promotions, and graphic services proficiencies. 

The Regional Promotions Specialist role is responsible for planning, training, supervising and implementing sponsorship and retail event activations reporting to the Event Marketing Manager. Responsibilities include relationship building, creative vision, serving as the lead event trainer, successful completion of events, analysis of results, inventory tracking, liaison with mascot agency and working alongside peers within the Event Marketing team. 

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be responsible for day-to-day management of sponsorship and retail event executions promoting Hoosier Lottery brand and product initiatives.
  • Serve as on-site event lead at retail event activations.
  • Partner with the Sales team to schedule promotional event activations at retail locations across the state.
  • Serve as Lead Event Overseer for on-site sponsorship activations, including management of event operations, overseer duties and accountability, and on-site logistics.
  • Coordinate event needs including scheduling part-time staff and mascot efforts.
  • Serve as Lead Event Staff trainer. Duties include:
  • Conduct mock seller training sessions.
  • Train staff on-site at events.
  • Track and supervise training progress through training period.
  • Assess performance of ticket sellers and provide ongoing training as needed.
  • Assist with updating policies and procedures that apply to ticket seller duties.
  • Assist with communications and logistical needs for retail and sponsorship event activations.
  • Assist Promotions and Sales departments with coordination of statewide events and news conferences held on retailer property including:
  • Perform ticket sales transactions and validations at Hoosier Lottery sponsored events.
  • Verify inventory and cash at opening and closing of Hoosier Lottery sponsored events.
  • Assist with setup and tear down of all promotional equipment at each event.
  • Responsible for regional promotional product inventory, tracking, issuing product for events and monthly usage reporting. 
  • Responsible for regional promotional ticket inventory, tracking and monthly usage reporting.
  • Engage in requesting graphic services requests (GSRs) for onsite event activations as needed to ensure the best brand experience for players and retailers. 
  • Handle general upkeep of mascot costumes including storage, routine cleaning, maintenance and repairs, feedback from talent, and idea creation for vital costume updates.
  • Assist Event Marketing Manager with promotional item procurement, resolving promotional item needs and maintaining vendor relationships. 
  • Assist Associate Event Execution Manager and Senior Promotions Specialist in the design and execution of statewide and regional drawings, contests, and promotional activities in support of Lottery marketing and sales strategies.
  • Attend and present event plans at monthly Sales Division meetings.
  • Upholds security, safety, and integrity of event policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for completing detailed post-event assessments for retail event campaigns and sponsorship events.
  • Assist in the Proof of Quality Delivery analysis of partnerships and promotions to settle overall event effectiveness and return-on-investment. 
  • Serve as brand ambassador at onsite events, supporting a positive player experience. 
  • Provide photography and social media assistance for internal and external events, as needed. 
  • Assist with Winner Interviews, as needed. 
  • Ensure that the customer/player is 18 years of age or older. Verify age by asking for identification.
  • Perform other required tasks as assigned.

SCOPE

  • Complexity of functions responsible for or influenced: Training is provided for company policies, corporate social responsibility, responsible gaming, event activations and player engagement. 
  • Diversity of locations responsible for or influenced: Emphasis for this role is Central Indiana, with support as needed Statewide (Indiana). 

Typical Job Problems and Difficulties: 

  • Financial Accountability: Responsible for inventory and cash at Hoosier Lottery sponsored events. 
  • Physical (% time: travel, operating machinery, environmental etc.): This position engages with event activations. Travel is required to supervise and staff those events.

REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. 

 

Experience

  • Minimum of two years marketing experience with specific emphasis in retail and/or sponsorship event planning and implementation.
  • Strong work ethic, excellent time management and organizational skills, and a very precise and diligent attitude in all areas of marketing execution.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and social skills, with ability to form strong working relationships.
  • Ability to successfully work under tight deadlines and lead projects independently.
  • Knowledge of and ability to handle and balance money transactions accurately. 
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Solid understanding of social media.

 

Crucial special training requirements

  • Available to work weekends, afternoons, some holidays and during the Indiana State Fair.
  • Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license with minimal infractions.
  • Ability to use navigation system.
  • Ability to develop Excel spreadsheets with formulas for the purposes of analyzing the effectiveness of a promotion.

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation range is $59,795 - $122,400. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
