Introduction

IGT is the world leader in the design, development and manufacture of gaming and lottery products and systems.  IGT Australia is a dominant force in Australia, New Zealand and Asia and we provide a range of gaming and lottery products, systems, and services.


We are seeking a highly enthusiastic and motivated Logistics Director to lead our operations department and be responsible for the management of all operations impacting IGTA’s Production facility.
 

Key functions for this role are:

Production

  • Management of production process and production team members.
  • Ongoing management of WIP inventory and maintain accuracy.
  • Manage department KPI efficiencies & budget expenditure.
  • Ensure quality standards are met within the Operations department.
  • Manage preventative maintenance of production & warehouse equipment and tools.
  • Sourcing and purchasing of production related equipment and tools.
  • Management of Operation’s building facilities.
  • Development and introduction of quality procedures and MPI work instructions.
  • Manage IGT’s waste management & recycling programs.
  • Evaluation of new processes & techniques to improve product quality & production efficiency.
  • Maintaining effective liaison with all IGT departments.
  • Ensuring all products are manufactured to relevant specifications and test procedures.
  • Ensuring that components & materials specially listed are checked at Goods Inwards and meet all specification requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers, alerting them to quality issues & their supply performance, along with offering assistance on improvement strategies.  
  • Represent Production at the Engineering Change (ECO) meetings.
  • Liaise with Engineering on ECO changes and implementation into Production along with recommendations for product change/enhancement.
  • Liaise with Engineering on new projects with a view to introduce into Production, including pre-production build and the relevant documentation.
  • Undertake analysis & disposal of faulty material i.e.: QAQ area and insurance claims.
  • Act as an active member of the OH&S committee as a designated Management representative.     
  • Assist finance with Sarbane Oxley corporate governance requirements.


People Management

  • Effective management, supervision, and coaching of the department/team to ensure effective performance and personal development.
  • Effective management of the PDR process within own department to meet agreed deadlines.
  • Model behaviour and provide advice to employees to improve and maintain professional standards.

The following requirements are a must:

Educational

  • Metal or Electronics/Electrical trade certificate (preferred).


Skills & Attributes

  • Demonstrated high level skills in the following areas: negotiation, communication, influencing, facilitation, coaching, relationship management, business, strategic, project management skills.
  • Complete understanding and demonstrated implementation skills relating to the use of quality tools and techniques such as data collection, problem solving and statistical process control methods.


Experience

  • In-depth knowledge of the gaming industry.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a related position within a manufacturing company.
  • Demonstrated success as a leader in a changing manufacturing environment.
