Administers systems used for processing transactions, data storage, transfer of data and recommends improvements necessary to ensure operation of the company’s high traffic, business critical production environments.

Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems, oversees required controls to balance audit compliance (where appropriate) cost of ownership and risk. Serves as a frontline interface to users with technical issues. Makes recommendations for hardware and systems software purchases. Interacts with third-party technology providers and internal support functions. Conducts systems analysis, detailed planning and configuration to keep systems current with changing technologies. This position is based in our IGT Boston, MA office



* Proposes and implements system enhancements (software and hardware updates) that will improve the performance and reliability of systems to include planning / scheduling, testing, and coordination.
* Installs new software, participates with system implementations, and system upgrades (hardware and software) and conducts system testing. 
* Responsible for troubleshooting, monitoring, administering appropriate permissions/access to applications/systems for users.
* Opens and maintains service tickets, status and escalations.
* Assists with equipment orders including terminals and cable installation, as well as upgrading, monitoring, testing and servicing databases and systems.
* Applies capacity planning to business recommendations regarding systems.
* Maintain integrity of the operating system environment.
* Manages the load configuration of central data communication processors and makes recommendations for purchase or upgrade of data processing systems/devices.
* First point of contact for performance analysis, scalability, and service architecture/database administration issues.
* Negotiates and places orders with common carriers.
* Creates and maintains documentation of systems to include Warranty information, software versions, device serial numbers and the like.
* Perform data backups and recoveries.
* Updates procedures related to job responsibilities
* Provides after hours support as required.


* Four-year Information Technology degree
* 2 to 4 years of related experience
* Experience with Linux platforms and Virtual machines
* Creating, maintaining and troubleshooting
* Windows servers practical experience
* System Imaging and restoring
* Customer support background
* Detail oriented
* Ability to work individually as well as in team setting

* Ability, flexibility, and willingness to work various Massachusetts work locations, and travel to IGT/customer sites as needed. Flexibility of work location is a must.
* Must be able to pass two security background checks.
* Be available to participate in the department rotating on-call schedule, understanding the possibility of being called at any time for emergencies.
