Medior Technical Artist (Unity)

The way we work:

In its mission to provide the best games in casino markets including Class III, bingo, Central Determination Systems, and Historical Horseracing, Core Studio collaborates over a wide geographic area. This position will be based in Belgrade and will work with developers both locally and those based in Reno, USA. Game development is generally led by a producer, and this position will work closely with the producer, mathematicians, and engineers to create world-class games with frequent communication regarding art direction and implementation.

What are we looking for:

We are seeking an addition to the team with expertise in Unity and experience generating art using AI. This role will ideally use IGT’s internally trained AI model to generate initial art for games that can be reviewed by the producer and eventually implemented into the games themselves while working with the game engineer. We are looking for a candidate with strong creativity who can work well on a game development team. Understanding Unity's technical constraints and capabilities is essential, along with hands-on experience in Unity development. 

What you will do:

•    Generate base game art using AI or other means that will be used to define a game’s art direction and ultimately be implemented in the game.
•    Implement 2D/3D game art into Unity games, ensuring compatibility with production pipelines and alignment with the game’s creative vision
•    Communicate with the Core Studio technical art team in Reno to both share and learn best practices within the studio 
•    Collaborate with the team to achieve the artistic vision for the game
•    Author new shaders and effects
•    Research and propose improvements to processes and functionality
•    Determine the art packages and technical tools best suited for the game project
•    Work closely with the Producers and Developers on the implementation of art assets based on specifications
•    Collaborate with designers, artists, developers, etc. to generate effective design solutions 
 

Must-haves:

•    At least 3 years of experience with the Unity Engine 
•    At least 2 years with Photoshop, After Effects working on 2D textures
•    At least 2 years of experience with a common 3D art and animation software package
•    High level art and animation skills (2D/3D)
•    Experience optimizing 2D/3D assets for Unity 
•    Experience with art production workflow 
•    Knowledge of shaders and rendering pipelines
•    Experience creating particles or other VFX
•    Creative mindset and ability to overcome technical challenges
•    Know how to optimize content quickly
•    English language skills, we work with producers worldwide 
•    A passion for game development
•    You are a self-starter and can work independently 

Good to have:

•    C# programming knowledge
•    Unity editor tools scripting
•    Develop and maintain new and existing tools for the artists
•    Experience with Adobe Premier
