Game Mathematician - external contract

Overview:

We are looking for Game Mathematician to join us in delivering the next generation of casino products for a worldwide audience. We are a passionate team, in the process of undergoing a technology shift. 

Game Mathematician will join our team that is working on the Core product line, where new slot machine games are created from scratch and the emphasis is on innovations and creativity. You will be part of the game development from start to end, you will create mathematical logic from scratch, test the logic you implemented via Python simulations, tune the game payouts, and at the end prepare technical documentation for complex math logic that is checked in external certification bodies. The mathematical logic is implemented in MPT – which in-house developed mathematical game development environment and framework and will be trained with us in detail.

You will work closely with the Game Designer in the game creation process as well as with the other teams (Developers, Artists, Project Managers, Testers, and other Mathematicians) through the game development lifecycle. The mathematical logic you are implementing is the core of our games and one of the most critical success factors in the game business markets.

What you’ll do:

•    Create and implement mathematical logic from scratch of the slot game according to specification from the Game Designer
•    Calculate the probabilities of winning combinations and other aspects of game design
•    Write Python simulations to test the mathematical logic of our games
•    Work together with Game Designer on the tuning of the various payouts of the game
•    Work with other teams (Developers, Artists, Project Managers, Testers, other Mathematician) during the game development lifecycle
•    Prepare the necessary mathematical documentation for technical approval, ensuring that compliance requirements are met
•    Be the internal contact person for requests concerning mathematical concepts
•    Have an advisory role during a game’s concept phase for exploitability or compliance risks

Must-haves:

•    University degree in Mathematics, Software Engineering Physics or a related field
•    Proficiency in programming C++, C#, Python, Java, or a similar language
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
•    1-4 years of experience in the area of mathematics, statistics, software engineering, or similar (experience in the game slot industry is not required but it is a big plus)
•    Being precise, detailed, and accurate
•    Proactive and team player (cooperating with other teams and having a curious mindset)
•    Solid technical English as well as good communication skills

NOTE: This position requires that you open your d.o.o. company. You would work for us as external vendor (consultant). Our current need is consultant that can devote 40 hours per week to work for us. Initial contract is 1 year with focus on developing long term cooperation. We pay full taxes for amount arranged. We provide equipment and we expect that you are willing to work in hybrid way of work. Our office is based in Ušće Tower 1.

•    Test – Candidates will be asked to complete different assignments in the area of combinatorics, probability calculation, and Python code optimization of mathematical logic of a game. You’ll have 7 days to complete the test.
