Job Overview:
We are looking for an efficient Technical Lead to be a part of our Art Team that can manage up to 7-8 people. As a good tech lead, will be responsible for smooth functioning of all technical day-to-day operations among Art Team members that you are supervising. Besides, you will be identifying the project requirements and developing new tools. You will be responsible for quality control and reviewing timelines and deliverables. The tech lead role also requires you to analyze ongoing projects and write progress reports on the same. Furthermore, you will be responsible for leading the team members and overseeing their performance to set the standard of quality and to present the studio technically.
Your Responsibilities:
• Quality control of your Art Team members and their deliverables in the following way:
-Technical deep-dive and review of Art deliverables/assets on a daily basis, with implementing a daily control process in your team
-Support environments and tools used by your team by not being afraid to be hands-on if needed
-Verify team tasks, JIRA usage and task overload of your team
-Review work ethics, approach and working standards of your team
-Provide support for business and product knowledge to your team (must be eager to learn the product)
-Review & analyze work of each team member and provide continuous feedback on their work
-Document performance and enhancement opportunities for each team member
• Continuously initiate and propose -> new skills or new processes or new approaches or new tools or new techniques, to better your team or other teams in the studio (in regards to Art work)
• Perform impact and feasibility analysis of the new tools, processes or approaches you have chosen, to allow for easier implementation of the new processes/tools/approaches/skills
• Dive in technically to resolve the issues if needed with your team members (not afraid to be hands-on)
• Challenging estimation, processes, tools used and/or approaches selected from other teams or from your team members
• Challenging technical implementation from other teams or from your team members, providing better technical options and supporting new implementation from beginning to the end
• As a Tech Lead, responsibilities will include: ability to prototype, selecting new tools/processes/skills, provide research and talk to other studios or knowledge-holders, show In-depth understanding, introduce to the team knowledge learned, document and analyze, and support team members in implementation of that knowledge continuously in the future
• Preparing and presenting progress reports to supervisors with ability to communicate your technical issues in management language (impact-and-risk)
• Work closely with other team’s Tech Leads and communicates with peers among the IGT global community to accept, propose or share knowledge, present the studio technically or to set the standard of quality
• Continuously better the team by assisting in training new or existing employees, by scheduling training sessions for employees within the team or scheduling training sessions with other studios to better your team
Requirements:
• 3+ years of experience working in Unity, as a Tech Lead, Art Team Lead or similar role
• Strong communication skills with ability to listen well, negotiate and have patience to support personnel with openness to communicate daily
• Gaming industry experience is highly regarded (Experience in game development is a plus)
• Proficient knowledge of Unity 3D and Adobe Photoshop
• Experience creating optimized 2D/3D assets for Unity
• Experience in creating assets, scripts, and tools for Unity
• Experience creating particles or other VFX and shaders for real-time rendering
• Knowledge of 3D Animation Tools, Maya/Blender is our software of choice
• Adobe package (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
• In-depth knowledge of graphic, 3D modeling, and animation software application
• Basic principles of game development (e.g., C#) is a plus
• Knowledge of latest technologies and industry trends
• Awareness about the best industry practices
• Good English language skills
• Highly motivated and willing to develop new technologies
• Ability to multitask or not being afraid to multitask
