We are looking to fill the role of Systems Engineer (SE) within our Barcelona Technology Center to focus on supporting our lottery business activities. The Systems Engineer drives the technical solution, architecture and implementation related to initiatives that deploy our lottery products.  The SE role is within the Global Systems Engineering, Lottery group and the position reports to the Senior Director of Global Systems Engineering based in our West Greenwich, RI Technology Center. Technical direction is provided by the Director of Systems Engineering based in our Warsaw Technology Center.

The Systems Engineer provides full lifecycle technology support to the business through four key activity streams:

  • Sales Engineering – Provide opportunity leadership, business understanding and technical expertise to facilitate business & technology alignment on “whole solution” modeling.
  • Systems Delivery – Implementation of the complete technology solutions from end-to-end in collaboration with the Project Management Office having direct oversight of technical teams organized for delivery projects.
  • Account Management – Provide technology planning in the form of customer roadmaps and opportunity analysis, critical problem solving, major project support, and architecture support to customer accounts.
  • Product Development – Provides product design and roadmap governance, execution and design analysis reviews.

The SE brings all the technical disciplines within IGT together with the business teams and our customers to ensure alignment and success with complete solution deliveries.

Successful applicants will possess the following:

  • Customer facing lottery system implementation experience
  • Extensive experience with lottery systems platform deployments
  • Development within high-volume enterprise systems
  • 3-5 years of solutions design and implementation experience
  • Strong independent facilitation and technical leadership skills
  • Knowledge of infrastructure concepts such as virtualization, load balancing, security, etc.
  • Knowledge of LAN and WAN deployment concepts such as VSAT, Cellular, DMZ’s, etc.
  • Knowledge of Point of Access (POA) terminal solutions and applications

Responsibilities

Sales Engineering:

  • Create appropriate technical implementation strategies for sales opportunities
  • Properly manage solution gaps identified through systems analysis (current vs. target)
  • Ensure solutions align with approved lottery products and roadmaps
  • Ensure business/customer needs are fully understood & documented in all solutions proposed
  • Ensure all cost estimates are complete, appropriate, accurate and aligned with the technical strategy and customer proposal
  • Ensure the success of all customer benchmarks or technical demonstrations
  •  

         Systems Delivery:

  • Coordinate solution implementation with the Project Manger
  • Develop project initiation artifacts adhering to SE standards and Product reference models
  • Design technical strategies for gaps ensuring well documented and communicated implementation plans
  • Delivery oversight focusing on scope control, solution quality and release readiness
  • Provide execution/delivery governance and leadership to technical teams
  • Act as technology liaison to business teams & customers
     
    Account Management Support:
  • Coordinate with regional technology leads on major account technology solutions.
  • Work with account support teams to ensure architecture deliverables are updated as necessary for account technology solutions.
  • Work with business teams, regional technology leads and our customers to create effective account technology roadmaps on a regular basis.
     
    Product Development Support:
  • Provide direction and reviews to ensure we create the right product solutions for customers. Collaborate with Product Managers for Lottery product implementations.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum education: Bachelor of Science Degree with additional Education/Training or equivalent
  • Years Experience:  Must have 7-10 years of proven experience in technology environment as a senior technology decision maker, experience with Solutions, Software Development, System Integration, Infrastructure, Project Management, Customer Relationship Management, POA.
  • Special training requirements: 
    • Recent hands-on lottery systems deployments
    • Must have proven experience in technical leadership role i.e. Technical Lead, Software Project Manager or Project Lead directing the interdepartmental technical coordination and customer collaboration.
    • Highly preferred for candidates to have experience with enterprise architecture frameworks and able to work with diverse enterprise architecture team members.

 

Responsibilities

The Systems Integration Consultant is responsible for translating the client's business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for very large complex technology solutions and integrating architecture.

  • Acts as an advocate for the client as the ultimate authority on the architecture designed to address client business problems.
  • Provides direction for design activities.
  • Often project-based, sometimes working at customer sites.
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree; an advanced degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • 15 years of work experience; 12 years of related experience is required.
