Overall Objective

 

Provides coordination of facilities services (contract and maintenance personnel, equipment repair, etc.) for Texas based facilities. Knowledge to perform minor troubleshooting/diagnostics of building and HVAC assets including electrical circuitry, plumbing, emergency generators, and fire suppression systems. The Facilities Coordinator position works in concert with the Facilities Manager and or Director of Real Estate and Facilities to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities

 

  • Works with minimal supervision.
  • Works and makes decisions in a critical facility.
  • Responsible for coordination of maintenance and repair for 6 facilities with approximately 200K square feet combined.
  • Can coordinate multiple projects at one time.
  • Works with preferred corporate suppliers for purchase of supplies and equipment.
  • Interacts with all levels of employees.
  • First responder to all hot/cold calls and any building emergencies.
  • Can clearly, concisely, and effectively listen to and understand information and ideas as presented verbally and in writing.
  • Will work extended hours as needed.
  • Can communicate clearly, concisely, and effectively, ideas and information in written and verbal formats.
  • Work with or contribute to a work group or team to complete assigned tasks.
  • Makes minor repairs to equipment utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Performs daily building rounds of all Austin facilities for problems in equipment, services, or facility structure and communicates needs to related parties.
  • Knowledge and experience with UPS Units, Static Switches, Automatic Transfer Switches, and Generators. 
  • Provide escort to contractors in secured areas where work is to be performed to ensure the security of the facility.
  • Coordinate the activities of facility professionals and construction contractors to ensure that facilities for DCA, ATC, Tuscany, and satellite offices are completed within time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Collaborates with outside contractors for various maintenance and repair projects.
  • Makes decisions or solves problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Have knowledge and experience in critical data center facilities HVAC environmental automation controls, fire life safety systems, and power generation. 
  • Utilizes blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and other technical data to troubleshoot building and facility breakdowns.
  • Coordinator ensures that all applicable laws, rules, and regulations are followed during projects and daily activities.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, policies, and procedures.
  • On call two (2) consecutive weeks and weekends per month and responds to all building emergencies. Paid on call. On call roughly every three weeks.
  • Perform minor troubleshooting on HVAC and Electrical equipment and be able to communicate needs to related parties.
  • Maintains lighting internally.

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 4 years in facility maintenance with knowledge and experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, and Construction, and Project Management required. 
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations.
  • Experience and knowledge working with building automation and fire systems.
