Job Summary

As a leader in the casino gaming industry, IGT is looking for a talented individual to take on a role of a Systems Engineer Intern reporting to the Global Gaming Systems Services organization.  This individual should be passionate about superior customer service and will be focused on IGT’s next generation Cloud/WAN/LAN Systems Services.  If you thrive on providing optimum levels of customer service while dealing with cutting edge technology, then this position is for you. 

You will work closely with several key Systems Services areas that are responsible for solution design, infrastructure builds, scripting & automation, systems integration, performance monitoring & fine tuning, continuous delivery, and support services.  As a member of this team, the Systems Engineer, plays a key role in the success of growing and maintaining IGT’s customer base and production system implementations.

Responsibilities

  • Ability to carry out activities related to new software installations, maintenance and upgrades associated with IGT Gaming Systems software. 
  • Ability to produce and provide input in the definition or modification of current technical documentation and processes.
  • Ability to function in a high-paced, high-demand working environment.
  • Participate in multiple service-oriented projects involving several major product lines and platforms.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to accomplish specific goals or draft policies and procedures relevant to the Systems Engineering organization.
  • Supports the maintenance and reporting of key performance indicators/SLA’s (i.e.: dashboards, SLA reports and senior leadership requests).
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) with other related organizations (internal and external) to develop solutions as required. Examples of related organizations include (but are not limited to) software engineering, product management, account specialists, product assurance, regulatory agencies, and customers.

Qualifications

  • Exposure or understanding of:
    • CI/CD pipelines
    • Cloud Technology (AWS, GCP, AZURE)
    • Microservices
    • Open-source platforms
    • Network design and implementation
    • Hardware/software set-up and installation
    • CMDB and ITIL Best Practices
  • Ability to support and develop skills around automation
  • Scripting languages such as PowerShell/Terraform/ Jenkins/JavaScript are a plus
  • Strong interest in building, maintaining, and administering system infrastructure (e.g. Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux, Microsoft Windows, SQL Servers).
  • Understanding of Network & Security fundamentals (e.g. network infrastructure, physical and virtual load balancers, public Cloud security principals)
  • Virtual infrastructure (VMware, HyperV) and Storage Area Networks configuration and administration
  • Special requirements needed Security Investigation

At IGT, we consider a wide range of factors in determining compensation, including background, skills, experience, and work location. These factors can cause your compensation to vary. The estimated starting compensation is $23.50/hour. The actual pay offered may end up being higher or lower. The Company will comply with all local pay requirements and collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
