Position Summary

The Solution Architect IV position at IGT is a multi-faceted, technically well rounded, dynamic role and requires strong technical and inter-personal skills. The individual is required to analyze complex technical and business requirements provided by IGT’s customers and design enterprise grade solutions to meet the same. The Solution Architect should be able to run Proof of Concepts to verify the solutions designed in addition to certifying new infrastructure solutions with IGT’s casino management software. This individual should be adept at installing, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise grade infrastructure solutions as part of the POCs and assist other teams with escalations from customers as needed.

The Solution Architect will be working closely with Pre-Sales engineers in the process of delivering robust and cost-effective infrastructure solutions to IGT’s customers. This individual will also work closely with a cross functional team consisting of R&D, Product Management, and other software architects within IGT to modernize IGT’s casino management applications from an infrastructure/platform perspective.  Strong skillset in virtualization, relational databases, network infrastructure and hyper converged concepts is required.  Functional knowledge of software defined networking, storage virtualization, containers, automation, and container orchestration would also be required.

As a level IV Solution Architect, the individual must be capable of creating material (Technical documents, case studies, presentations) and presenting the same to a variety of audience ranging from IT administrators and engineers, to C-Level or IT Executives.
 

Required Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in a technology related discipline or relevant combinations of education and experience
•    Minimum of 8 combined years of directly related work experience in a Solution Architecture, system design, system engineering, database administration, IT or a similar role
•    Optimize, modernize the solutions in the solution portfolio on a continuous basis
•    Expert level knowledge of virtualization concepts (VMware, Hyper-V, AHV) required to design, install, configure, and troubleshoot the same
•    Expert level knowledge of designing solutions based on software defined storage (Nutanix, vSAN) and Hyper Converged Infrastructure
•    Expert level knowledge of distributed systems design dependent on Microsoft Server operating systems ranging from Windows Server 2008 to Windows Server 2019
•    Expert level knowledge of designing, installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Microsoft SQL Server based distributed systems
•    Expert knowledge in SQL Server Always On, Availability groups, replication, and similar SQL concepts
•    Expert level knowledge of services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, certificate authority, and network load balancing
•    Functional knowledge of containers (preferably Docker), orchestration engines like K8S etc.
•    Conceptual knowledge of public cloud providers including Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform
•    Proficiency in network topologies and network security concepts is highly desirable
•    Functional knowledge of backup solutions and disaster recovery concepts with the ability to design technical outcomes incorporating high availability and designated levels of up-time
•    Lead an escalation call and perform systematic troubleshooting to resolve the issue and document the root cause analysis
•    Ability to articulate system designs and technologies during customer presentations is needed
•    Ability to conduct load and performance testing of new solutions followed by the creation of comprehensive reports detailing the results is a plus
•    Must be able to explain, justify and defend solution designs before internal and external customers 
•    Act as a mentor to System Engineers regarding solution deployment as it pertains to infrastructure
•    Participate in customer major incident events and act as a subject matter expert for infrastructure escalations
