The Manager of Cost Accounting will report directly to the VP Finance, Gaming FP&A. This position is partially remote with a team of 8 professionals, 6 of which are direct reports. 
The Manager is responsible for overseeing global cost accounting functions across both Gaming and Lottery segments. The role requires the ability to coordinate all cost accounting activities across multiple geographies and business lines; Coordination with Technical and Segment Accounting is essential; The ability to communicate results and variances to standards to the SVP of Supply Chain & Service; Implementing and maintaining strong controls. Policies need to be drafted or maintained, then implemented and enforced; Month end activities.


•    Deep understanding of GAAP related to Cost Accounting 
•    Develop and enforce cost accounting policies across the company according to GAAP
•    Set annual standards for raw materials and manufacturing LOH absorption, including earned hours and per unit costs
•    Calculate variances to standards and properly manage the capitalization and roll out
•    Review and approve account reconciliations
•    Prepare monthly reporting for Corporate Accounting and attend review meetings
•    Manage reserves of raw material and finished goods based upon written policies
•    Measure productive hours incurred compared to earned hours standard and report on variance
•    Report on free trial machines
•    Prepare and present global inventory report monthly to a large cross functional group
•    Support the preparation and present the quarterly reserve recommendations to senior executives, including company CFO
•    Ensure SAP processes are functioning correctly and work with IT to fix or improve programs as needed
•    Translate Cost Accounting practices into Financial results and help the business anticipate impacts related to Cost Accounting activities and changes
•    Communicate with non-Accounting business leads to explain financial impacts
•    Lead and develop team of professionals
o    Motivate team to be high performing

o    Succession planning for all levels of the group


•    Minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in manufacturing cost accounting environment
•    Bachelor's degree in Accounting
•    MBA degree or CPA designation a plus
•    Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality product and introduce innovative processes and solutions specific to the following areas:
o    Leadership
    Ability to set the cost accounting agenda for the company, driving continuous improvement and efficiencies on tactical activities to drive increase capacity to support the business and meet accounting requirements
    Self-motivated, able to work both independently and collaboratively with team
o    FP&A Competencies
    Analytical, financial and business acumen. Able to succinctly interpret data and frame business issues in a straightforward manner and communicate them effectively
    Highly organized with ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
    Proficient in SAP or similar ERP, Excel, and PowerPoint; a basic understanding of BPC Financial Planning System a plus
o    Accounting Competencies
    Knowledge of US GAAP and aspects related to managing balance sheet accounts including policies and requirements related to Inventory and Reserves
    Experience managing the implementation and/or maintenance of accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Inventory, Reserves, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures
    Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency
    Participates in annual audits and special projects
    Work with external consultants and/or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper recordkeeping for historical purposes
