Overview & Responsibilities

We are seeking a tax accounting professional to join our Corporate Tax department. The individual selected for this position will be responsible for various tax projects in the areas of state and local income tax. The successful candidate will have prior tax experience and exposure to tax returns and various tax issues. Tax return preparation including working in Corptax tax return preparation software, organization of supporting tax return workpaper documentation and monitoring federal and state/local tax legislation.

•    Prepare Sales and Use Tax Returns for multiple states and cities per legal entity
•    Prepare Property Tax annual cycle including data, returns, assessments, bills, and audits
•    Prepare and file annual business license returns
•    Maintain compliance with Multi-State and Local tax laws
•    Communicate with state, county and city level departments of revenue to interpret various tax collection, remittance and licensing questions
•    Test software periodically to ensure sales rules match documented research
•    Gain in depth understanding of various retail product and service offerings and each state’s taxation of such
•    Retrieve and respond to tax notices and data requests as part of various state and local sales tax audits
•    Complete related monthly balance sheet reconciliations
•    Update regulatory changes in Returns Software and Database Reporting
 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's degree in business or accounting
•    5-8+ years of relevant experience, preferably with multiple entities
•    Microsoft Office proficiency: Outlook, Excel, Word required
•    Self-motivated, independent, and positive attitude
•    Ability to prioritize workload given various tasks with strict deadlines
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•    Excellent research and reconciliation skills
