Job Overview

The Payroll Manager will successfully implement best-in-class payroll management to develop people, processes, information and technology. This individual will coordinate our payroll efforts across our Americas regional locations (US, Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean). The role includes performing all activities necessary to process and oversee regional payroll for local and expatriate employees, maintaining related records, documenting and updating procedures, and streamlining our systems and processes. The position is also accountable for the management of the day-to-day activities within the payroll department and providing support to the payroll staff, business partners, and internal/external clients.

Responsibilities

•    Manage payroll activities and or program components to ensure efficient department functionality, including compliance with all country, federal, state, and local tax laws, company policies and procedures.
•    Partner with internal departments including finance, HR, IT, and legal, and manage external payroll service vendor relationships.
•    Develop and oversee the preparation of various payroll related documents (e.g. SOC1 reports, retirement plan transfers, payroll registers, stop payments, W2 controls, etc.). 
•    Assess current payroll resources including technology, personnel and processes to identify, recommend, and upon approval, implement prioritized solutions 
•    Remain current on new legislation and regulatory ruling impacting payroll. Enforce adherence and advise management on required actions.
•    Coordinate activity with Treasury Department to ensure proper funding of payroll and payment of amounts withheld.
•    Manage the entry, execution and compliance maintenance of all wage garnishment orders.
•    Ensure accurate and timely payment and reporting of compensation payable to employees. 
•    Review and approve all Regional payroll funding, and manual check requests.
•    Develop and implement appropriate payroll related policies and procedures (both systematic and user functional) to ensure data integrity, while minimizing manual effort, to ensure compliance. 
•    Ensure corporate policies are properly administered and new policies are adequately documented and communicated across all divisions and companies.
•    Provide departmental direction, coaching and leadership, including resolution support with payroll administration issues and procedures.
•    Work with customers and internal teams to resolve issues and streamline processes.
•    Provide performance management and coaching to staff and he/she is responsible for personal and professional development of staff including the development of goals and objectives for self as well as direct reports.
•    Analyze metrics & team statistics and prepare reports for management
•    Implement new approaches, policies and procedures that effect continual improvements in efficiency of services performed. 

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Information Systems or related field
•    Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Strong service orientation and accountability to problem resolution and end user support
•    CPP highly preferred
Critical knowledge and competencies required:
•    5-10 years US domestic payroll experience required
•    LATAM / Caribbean payroll experience required 
•    Payroll management experience ideally in a regional setting utilizing outsource provider required 
•    Bilingual English & Spanish highly preferred 

•    Experience with payroll provider transition a plus
•    Knowledge of ADP and / or Celergo 
•    Strong background in payroll tax payments and filings
•    2-3 years of time and attendance experience preferably utilizing ADP eTime
•    SAP Payroll and SuccessFactors Employee Central experience 
•    Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of internal and external contacts verbally and in writing
•    Excellent collaboration, organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills and the ability to work accurately and meet deadlines with frequent interruptions
•    Ability to work and thrive in a team environment, focused on achieving results
