Overview

The Tax Compliance Manager will join the Tax department in Providence, RI. This individual will play an important role in ensuring the US Federal and State tax returns are filed in a complete, correct, efficient and timely manner. The primary responsibility of this position will be the management of the day-to-day activities associated with the Company’s domestic compliance, including tax provision assistance at quarter-end and year-end. The compliance includes proper treatment of US outbound transactions. The individual will work closely with the business units, finance and treasury as well as with our external advisors and auditing firm. 

Responsibilities

•    Responsible for the accurate and timely consolidation of the US Federal return (includes filing of 8858’s, 5471’s, 5472’s, and 8865’s) and filing of all State unitary and combined returns, including related analysis and support.
o    Review of I/C eliminations.
o    Preparation of GILTI, BEAT and 163(j) calculations.
o    Coordination and oversight of compliance process with external advisors.
•    Assist with the completion of the US tax-related issues, including Subpart F and foreign tax credits, calculation of adjustments to existing and new US FIN 48 reserves and associated interest and penalties.
•    Monitors changes in and maintains current knowledge of all US and State tax laws affecting the Company. 
•    Assist with US Federal and State tax audit management and defense on US-outbound issues.
•    Support foreign audits as necessary on corresponding US tax issues.
•    Responsible for understanding accounting practices and their effect on the tax return. 
•    Responsible for understanding the systems and how to gather the information for the preparation of domestic and foreign forms. 
•    Responsible for the accuracy of the tax books in SAP fixed asset subledger and for the review of fixed asset roll forward for tax compliance. 

Qualifications

•    Minimum of 6 years’ tax experience, in US Federal (domestic and US outbound) and State tax matters.
•    Big-4 Accounting tax advisory and In-house experience with technology companies strongly preferred.
•    B.S. Accounting or equivalent degree required. CPA certification required.
•    Familiarity with CorpTax.
•    Exceptional communication skills, oral and written, with the ability to manage cross- functional responsibility.
•    Ability to succinctly explain complex tax issues to non-tax personnel.
•    High level familiarity with ASC 740, accounting for income taxes, including impact of strategies and transactions on company’s effective tax rate.
•    Willingness to stretch beyond comfort zone to explore new areas of tax, broaden skill-sets, and tackle unanticipated challenges in dynamic and fast global growing company.
