The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Project Manager is responsible for the implementation and ongoing management of EHS programs and projects for global operations. This role is responsible to deliver business results through effective program management/project planning, change management, communications, and training. Manages multiple projects simultaneously that span various development and implementation phases. Routine management and continued improvement opportunities of implemented projects is expected.


Current EHS project portfolio includes the following:

  • Pandemic Response and Prevention
  • Integration of Global EHS information and data reporting systems 
  • Continued integration and evolution of Emergency Notification System


Additional Responsibilities


Systems Administrator for the following EHS platforms:

  • Workers Comp database (access to confidential employee claim information)
    • essential for effective work-related injury/illness insurance claims management including cases brought to litigation
  • Emergency Notification System
    • System Administer assigns specific access rights to system use at IGT locations
  • Database system administrator
    • System Administrator assigns specific access rights to end users at global locations


Occupational Health Services / Workers Comp Claims Management

  • Provide leadership to the Occupational Health Services, establishing goals and strategies for delivering global support for health initiatives
  • Manage IGT ergonomic assessment strategies 
  • Manage accident/incident prevention and reporting
  • Manage U.S. workers compensation program.
    • Liaison with Risk Management, Legal, and senior EHS leadership to ensure claims are managed appropriately (i.e., claims may lead to litigation necessitating coordinated strategies as needed).
  • System Administrator to the workers compensation claims database
    • accessing confidential information related to employee injury/illness case management
  • Provide trends analysis of injury/illness occurring in global operations, develop and present mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with occupational health recordkeeping standards (injury/illness recording, hearing conservation program)
    • U.S OSHA Recordkeeping Requirements
    • Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) / Sustainability Reporting Metrics
    • Others as identified
  • Audit regulated health programs to ensure overall compliance


Emergency Preparedness

  • EHS communications Program Manager
    • Liaison with vendor to renew/update systems
    • Coordinate use requirements (employee contact data files)
    • Collaborate with Communications to expand employee participation 
  • Provide support to IGT global operations with implementation and use strategies
  • Coordinate EHS efforts with Global Business Continuity, security, and compliance teams
  • Prepare seasonal preparedness plans, strategies, and training to affected locations
    • Messaging templates for hurricanes, predictable weather events
    • Lead/participate in tabletop drills measuring effectiveness of preparedness strategies
  • Support business continuity planning efforts



  • Role require supervision and all management responsibilities to oversee and direct other employees



  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Occupational Safety, Risk Management) or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of related experience with demonstrated success in leading project teams
  • Familiarity with PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge)
  • Proficiency in MS Office products such as MSWord, Excel, Teams
  • Experience with project management scheduling tools, such as MS Project, Clarity, Moovila
  • Experience leading multi-discipline, distributed teams
