Overview

IGT is seeking an intern to join our Diversity & Inclusion team (housed within People & Transformation; our Human Resources). This paid, full-time internship will allow for hands-on experience supporting the Diversity & Inclusion team in key initiatives. The Diversity & Inclusion intern will be responsible for a broad range of duties with significant focus on communication/marketing materials for a variety of mediums and audiences. This position will provide support necessary for new and existing Diversity and Inclusion Groups (employee business resource groups), company events and programs, research requests and employee education regarding diversity and inclusion in their day-to-day roles. This position also provides opportunities to support the People & Transformation Internal Communications team, with human resources-related initiatives focused on global employee engagement. 

Responsibilities

This intern will assist with short-term projects and daily tasks including:
•    Researching diversity and inclusion best practices, trends, regulations, benefits, and policies
•    Writing and editing internal communication materials for multiple mediums
•    Analyzing, organizing, and communicating data via visually engaging presentations 
•    Creating social media content and helping to establish a strategy around this channel to amplify the voice of the Office of Diversity & Inclusion
•    Working with Diversity and Inclusion Groups (employee business resource groups) on their structure, membership development, programming, and event execution

Qualifications

•    Must be able to work 37.5 hours per week during the summer. 
•    Internships will only be considered if course of study and area of internship are aligned. 
•    Must have completed at least two years of higher education study or 48 equivalent credit hours.
•    Preferably in good academic standing with a 3.0 minimum GPA•    Personal commitment to diversity and inclusion
•    Creative and highly motivated student pursuing a degree related to Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Sociology, Writing, Human Resources, or Business Administration
•    Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and oral communication skills
•    Associated Press guidelines or willingness to learn AP Style
•    Strong attention to detail
•    Strong technical/computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency in all aspects of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
•    Ability to take feedback and direction
•    Strong work ethic: ability to work successfully with limited supervision
•    Ability to juggle both short-term projects and daily tasks that need immediate attention
•    Strong collaboration skills
