Purpose

OVERALL OBJECTIVE AND PURPOSE

 

Leading the strategic direction of the traditional marketing organization, the Director of Marketing works to ensure that all marketing disciplines and efforts are aligned around the Hoosier Lottery brand’s specific business objectives. With up to 15 integrated B2C campaigns developed annually, the marketing organization runs at the pace of a retail business coupled with the strategic vision, discipline and lens of a consumer packaged goods brand.  The marketing team is a full 360 organization including brand management, media and advertising, public relations, retail, interactive/digital/social, promotions, and graphic services competencies.  This role has responsibility for all traditional marketing channels as well as brand leadership and will work in partnership with the Director of Digital Marketing. External creative, media, interactive and advertising agencies complete the organization.  The Director of Marketing will work alongside peers including Sales, Digital Marketing, Product Development, Research/Analytics, Legal, Government Relations, Corporate Social Responsibility, Technology and Finance leaders and report directly to the Chief Operating Officer, General Manager of IGT-Indiana as a member of the senior team.

 

Generating over $1.5 billion in sales annually, IGT-Indiana is responsible for marketing, product development, sales, technology and operations functions on behalf of the Hoosier Lottery. Our shared mission is to maximize net income to the State of Indiana in a socially responsible manner.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • In coordination with brand management and product development, leads development of brand, product and promotional positioning strategies, and campaign briefings for use by agency partners and internal marketing disciplines 
  • Ensures integration across business disciplines by leading our central marketing and brand strategies
  • Reviews and approves communications across the organization to ensure efforts align with brand vision and Marketing Code of Conduct
  • Participates in the development of IGT-Indiana’s annual business plan and goals
  • Guides external media and creative agencies; Ensures traditional advertising and media agencies deliver quality work related to creative, estimates, timelines, compliance, reporting and other necessary tasks
  • In partnership with senior agency leadership, develops quarterly partnership meeting presentations to review hours and business opportunities
  • In conjunction with digital team, ensures media agency is delivering on expectations in a timely fashion including estimates, plans, buys, reporting, compliance, invoicing and other aspects of agreed to performance requirements

Essential requirements

Experience managing multi-channel marketing programs with budgets exceeding $1 million each

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written

Task oriented and ability to track multiple elements in multiple stages of development

Ability to function independently which includes prioritizing and organizing work

Strong sense of urgency and commitment to setting and individually meeting deadlines

Ability to analyze problems and make appropriate decisions.

Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a result driven, team-oriented environment.

Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Power Point, and the Internet
