We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to join us in delivering the next generation of Play Digital Games products. We are a passionate team, in the process of undergoing rapid growth in all gaming areas.

What Will you do:

 

 

•    Configure and maintain PostgreSQL database clusters on-prem and/or cloud environment.
•    Manage the Linux Operating Systems that the PostgreSQL run upon and make changes for better System performance, where needed.
•    Participate in the teams 24x7 on call rotation and provide occasional off-hours support when required. 
•    Proactively identify areas for optimization and troubleshoot performance issues and support PlayCasino applications, related to the database.
•    Work closely with the Development team to ensure database changes adhere to best practices and are properly prioritized and scheduled.
•    Use PL/pgSQL to create roles, database objects and manage the PostgreSQL clusters.
•    Write scripts/programs (using bash/python or ansible) for maintenance, automation or reporting purposes.
•    Implement and maintain the PostgreSQL database backup procedures and plan for disaster recovery scenarios.
•    Resolve tickets, raise changes (according to ITIL procedures) and complete audits.

 

Must Have:

 

•    Four years or more, PostgreSQL database administration experience.
•    Linux System Administration experience with awareness of how to configure Linux for PostgreSQL databases.
•    Demonstrable ability to understand technical aspects and implications of proposed solutions
•    Excellent business English
•    Ability to document requirements clearly and concisely
•    Ability to communicate effectively with customers, internal stakeholders and developers

Nice to have:

 

•    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
•    2+ years of experience with Shell Scripting, Python or other language.
•    Experience of Oracle database systems including RAC.
•    Knowledge of the Gambling and/or Gaming Industry.
