Maintenance Technician/Facilities Coordinator

Responsibilities

Provides coordination of facilities services (contract and maintenance personnel, equipment repair, etc.) for Texas based facilities. Knowledge to perform minor troubleshooting/diagnostics of building and HVAC assets including electrical circuitry, plumbing, emergency generators, and fire suppression systems. The Facilities Coordinator position works in concert with the Facilities Manager and or Director of Real Estate and Facilities to ensure a smooth and efficient operation. Reports directly to the Facilities Manager.

  • Minimum 4 years in Facility Maintenance with knowledge and experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Construction, and Project Management required.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat.
  • Knowledge of Data Center Operations.

Qualifications

  • Responsible for coordination of maintenance and repair for 5 facilities with approximately 200K square feet combined.
  • Works with preferred corporate suppliers for purchase of supplies and equipment.
  • First responder to all hot/cold calls and any building emergencies.
  • Work with or contribute to a work group or team to complete assigned tasks.
  • Makes repairs to equipment utilizing hand and power tools.
  • Performs daily building rounds of all Austin facilities for problems in equipment, services, or facility structure and communicates needs to related parties.
  • Provide escort to contractors in secured areas where work is to be performed to ensure the security of the facility.
  • Coordinate the activities of facility professionals and construction contractors to ensure that facilities for DCA, ATC, NRC, and satellite offices are completed within time, cost, and quality constraints.
  • Collaborates with outside contractors for various maintenance and repair projects.
  • Makes decisions or solves problems by using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.
  • Coordinator ensures that all laws, rules and regulations are followed during projects and daily activities.

  • Will work extended hours as needed.
  • Knowledge and experience with UPS Units, Static Switches, Automatic Transfer Switches, Generators, Electrical, Plumbing, Building Automation Systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Have knowledge and experience in critical data center facilities HVAC environmental automation controls, fire life safety systems, and power generation.
  • Utilizes blueprints, drawings, diagrams, and other technical data to troubleshoot building and facility breakdowns.
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, policies, and procedures.
  • On call on a rotating schedule every three (3) weeks to include the weekend and responds to all building emergencies within forty-five (45) minutes. Paid on call.
  • Occasional overtime and travel will be required.
